Essentially, the Netflix credit can be applied to any account, new or existing of any type. The credit accounts for the standard plan for 6 months, totaling $77. It will account for less than 6 months if you have a higher plan (just doing the math). The credit can only be applied once to an account, so there's limited benefit to trying to "game" this deal.

If you have Netflix already or want Netflix, this essentially gets you the new Chromecast for $12, which is a great option. Just get one and enjoy 😁. Hope this helps!

Is my math wrong? Or does that mean I can essentially get 6 months of Netflix for just $40? (a savings of $37) All I have to do is to activate the free 6-month Netflix and then return the Chromecast device)

I have a 1st and 2nd generation Shield and just got the Chromecast yesterday. As much as I love the Shield, if Kodi runs well on it (FYI I haven't even seen if I could install it on the Chromecast Android TV yet), I don't feel that I will look back.

The game changer for the new Chromecast is the simple, but perfect remote. It is the first non-official universal remote that works my TV (including input button) and soundbar. Even though it's almost identical, it blows away the Roku remote.

BTW even though it's a little more per month, I feel FuboTV is better than YTTV. Trust me, I tried them all and although YTTV was a close second, FuboTV has quite a few more channels (e.g., A&E, History etc.) and their sports channels can't be touched.

You can get the 4k plan via t-mobile as well, they cover the cost up to standard Netflix package and you pay the difference. Comes out to around 7 bucks for the 4k plan

Went back and forth as I have an Android mibox which with the recent update started working well again. But figured I could find another use for it. Blue is out of stock though so hopefully will come back soon

Any TV with a HMDI input will work. It'll allow you to use Google TV through that input.

Only shipment with Netflix deal is delayed. I ordered at bestbuy and it arrived Saturday. Not to mention some were able to buy ones at home depot before launch. The tests show that hardware performance of this new Chromecast is marginally better than Fire stick.

two questions:
1.) If I already have smart TVs (LG OLED and another ROKU TV), would buying this new chromecast give me any additional benefit?

2.) I already have the Tmobile plan covering most of my 4K Netflix sub, so would this just give me $40 worth of credit to be used towards payments?

Ok so for me it's showing delivery date of early Nov for this bundle. But stand-alone chrome cast says early Oct. I mean the difference is just the credit, why would the hardware ship date be so off? Think I should just order the bundle? Don't really feel like waiting till Nov.

I think this streamer is also one of the few devices that support Netflix Dolby Atmos. Great cheap alternative to Apple TV for those with Atmos systems.

Would this chromecast work on a 1440p monitor? (Even scaling to 1080p is okay). I don't need another streaming device for my TV, but this would be ideal for the bedroom to use with my computer monitor. Yes, I can play anything on the monitor, but I'm sure my wife will find it much easier to just change the monitor input with a button and then use it as a TV. My monitor has in-built speakers; though they are not great, they'll do. Any input would be great.
