I think the price difference is mainly because phones are way more ingrained into people's lives. Most people can barely set down their phone, or look up from them... it's almost like a new body part to some people, or an addiction... So they can charge almost any amount for them and people will pay it.
I bet if they did some price fixing, and all phone companies agreed to only sell smart phones for $3000 or more, people would still pay it. They'd come out with some crazy long payment plan and people would buy them.
And even crazier the how low the price is when you consider most $499 huge 75" tv's will ship across the country for free. Its surprising they can make money off them. I'd be curious to see how much one of these costs to make.
Ok I'm done rambling on, thanks for reading, and now you can finally mark my post unhelpful. š
Both are good tvs and I honestly love the 4 series for the past 2 years but seeing the 6 makes me not want to go back. There is much more ghosting on the 4 series, the colors are not nearly as vibrant, next to each other its night and day.
But in all seriousness $500 for a 75" tcl is a hell of a deal. Can't speak for the android version though as mine are both roku which have been great.

What you get is often less vivid, less sharp and less contrast. The sharpness is fake sharpening. There are added lines around things with contrasting edges added to give the APPEARANCE of sharper. In reality, those lines cover the true fine details. It's less detail, but appears to be sharper. Same for contrast. The image will POP and be more VIVID, but that will cause the true detail in the highlights and shadow areas to be turned into full black or full white, rather than subtle gradients and details. Color is the same. Pumping up the color may APPEAR better, to some. What you really want is accuracy. So you see what the director intended.
To the average person, a calibrated screen can appear dim, dull and soft. It's not about VIVID and lifelike, necessarily. You want to preserve the information in the captured image, not blow it out and pump it up.

The only other issue is panel unifornity. 75 inch means someone going to get a great panel and someone is going to get screwed. It is how they press the panels. But panel lottery is fun....when you win. For me...I lost panel lottery but at least at costco I can bring it back within 90 days as I dragged that POS bad panel back to them.

at bestbuy you get a full 14 days....it will crap out on day 20...then you can call china.
But better TV versus Hisense or Sanyo or Westinghouse or Hitachi or lower end Samsung (6 series).
The TCL 6 series is nice. The 8 series is crazy good. 75 inch TCL be good for kids to watch xbox games.
Maybe stop projecting your own insecurities about your salary onto others.
This TV is known for size and cheap. Nothing else. I have communicated from the very first page what you are missing on this TV vs. 6 series.
Basic TV like this is not for me. It's for a lot of people who don't care about getting the best either, just want cheap for its size. Or, don't have the budget for it.
What else do you want to say?
I'm gonna say the same thing over and over and over that I do not buy the cheapest basic tv because I don't like its picture quality and its lack of features. I choose to spend more to get more. Others are happy to get a great deal on a basic TV. I'm happy you get a great deal on a basic TV. Again for the 100th time, not for me.

The 6 series gets much much brighter so everything will pop more. It also has native 120hz refresh rate so motion will look cleaner. It also has much better local dimming with microleds so the blacks should look blacker.
That said if you just looked at a 4 series it will still look just fine for most people. If you put it beside a 6 series it would look flatter and more washed out.
As said above all depends on how much you want to spend. I would consider a 4 series for my basement but my kids are likely get get xbox X or ps5 and the 6 will be better long term with that. Plus I am replacing a 2007 61 inch DLP so while anything will kick that, I also don't buy a new TV often so a little extra now to be better long term prob worth it for me. I have a 55 inch 6 series in the living room (2018 model so not all the frills I mention above) and I love it.
I would be a little concerned in your situation replacing a 6 series with a 4. Sort of like getting used to a nice Acura and then splurging on a base model Honda with cloth seats as your replacement?
I passed on this the first time and grabbed the 65". I kept checking and it came back in stock locally over an hour away but I didn't want to drive. It just showed available for free delivery and I grabbed it.
I thought the deal was long gone, may have gotten lucky with it coming back in stock? It's worth checking randomly if someone is still trying for this deal.
Now to decide which I want. This 75" or the 65" HiSense.
