If youre going to do ATT just get the ATT prepaid 8gb/yr plan. It costs $254/yr after target 10% off on refill and 5% disc with redcard. You wont get deprioritized to the least. My latency was through the roof with redpocket in bay area so any google assistant query wasnt immediate which is so annoying
Just a warning to all, STAY AWAY FROM REDPOCKET. They are con artists who promise unlimited talk and text but will suspend you over 1500-2000 minutes of usage and sometimes tech support will re-activate you and mostly they will tell you to buy add on minutes to continue using. No term were broken (they audited my account and admitted as much, but they said there is no limit but to protect their network they cannot give you too many minutes) so in fact their unlimited = Limited. I had paypal get involved in all three of our lines and won all the cases. They played dirty like responding to the case the last second.

You may think that 1500-2000 minutes is enough for you. But think, what if you have a loved one in a hospital meaning more usage and no one can reach you. They don't send any warning texts they just cut you off in middle of a conversation. I hope one day thee FCC sues them and screw them for millions like they did to tracfone a few years ago.

Redpocket = Scampocket

It took me a bit to get my first port to RP worked out on an iPhone. I had to download and install a profile on the phone which is hosted on their website
First was ATT line, activated instantly. second was this deal, new number, no port, says activated, spent 2-4 days with them opening a ticket with verzion on why I have voice , text but not data. Third was just past weekend also on vz. That took 2 days. The second line from this deal, they couldn't get working and refunded me.

What bugs me is every time I contact them, they ignore my ticket and wont comment on it and only want reset sim. If you reset sim for 5 times a day and still not working, its time to try something else. If the sim does not activate and 3 different apple carrier unlock iphones, its time to try something else.

So far the few I dealt with only want to do reset and APN. There is no APN on new ios unless carrier allows it, only android, This makes setup extremely easy. The guy didn't believe me, he wanted screen shots. That means lack of training. Its not his fault, its RP not giving CSR enough training.

Sure - totally get it. A couple of ours took a few days to get fully ported over. Now that we're on it, we havent had any issues at all...but yea, you really have to grit your teeth and keep getting in touch with different CSRs to get through that begining phase

Bought this during Thanksgiving. Already have service. Received a piece of paper in the mail thanking me for renewal bit there was no renewal number enclosed.

Anyone have experience on how long it should take to get the renewal code by eBay purchase?

This year and last year, I received the code in my email inbox from "[email protected]." The email subject was "Red Pocket Activation Code."

Just message them on eBay if you cannot find it, they can send it via eBay messages, too.

I switched from AT&T postpaid to red pocket in 30024 area. After activating and porting my number into their sim, my data speed was showing 3G. After few restarts I see LTE now. But the speed test shows 3mbps. I noticed slow response to websites like Home Depot and Best Buy etc and in the middle of browsing it switches between 3G and LTE. Is this due to prioritization? I chose AT&T when ordering sim. Is Tmobile a better option?

It can typically take a 24-hour turnaround. Though, if you haven't received your activation code, feel free to send us a DM with your order number and we'll surely take a look. Thanks!

I am guessing you were getting LTE or better speeds on your AT&T line in the same area and on the same phone ?

I am not sure about At& T in that area , but I see T-Mobile is spotty too.. (Forsyth ?)

First time to switch from Red Pocket AT&T to Red Rocket Verizon. What is the process to do this properly? Activate the Verizon SIM online then swap it with my AT&T SIM from the phone? I will continue to have the same account/phone# with additional 1 year of service seamlessly? Thanks!

I have an unlocked Pixel 3a (Android 11; last security update: Dec 5, 2020). I was with Ultra Mobile (T-Mobile MVNO) and everything worked great including WiFi calling for a year. My wife also has a Pixel 3a and she is still on UltraMobile. I was planning to switch her to RP but delayed it due to reasons below.

I purchased 8 GB annual plan for myself and 3 GB annual plan for my wife. In order to try Red Pocket, I purchased $5 for any 30-day plan. I ported into Red Pocket from Ultra Mobile using GSMT SIM (30-day plan) on Dec 15 and have been having issues with incoming calls. Most of them go to voicemail directly. I chatted with reps more than 10 times since Dec 15 and still no success using Pixel 3a. I even tried using another GSMT SIM after activating it.

I am only getting under 0.5-2.0 Mbps LTE download speed and about 2-14 Mbps upload speed, if I use mobile network inside my house. I checked multiple times since Dec 15.

I tried two Red Pocket GSMT SIMs on an older Samsung S6 Verizon unlocked phone (has some T-Mobile bands) and I am getting incoming calls. No issue with SMS (others and Red Pocket 7039 for balance info).

My wife still has Ultra Mobile on her Pixel 3a. I tried inserting her SIM into my phone and it works great (incoming calls and I could see WiFi calling under Mobile Network).

I also put my Red Pocket GSMT SIM into my wife's Pixel 3a and put her Ultra Mobile into mine (can make calls, Wi-Fi calling available) and Red Pocket GSMT SIM is having a similar issue (no incoming calls most of the time) on her phone too. Thus, both Pixel 3a phones are having issues with RP GSMT.

I chatted with the Red Pocket rep three times and enabled WiFi calling but it does not show up on my Pixel 3a. Last year, I called UltraMobile once and WiFi calling showed up under Advanced in Mobile Networks.

My SMS to other folks does work well. I can receive SMS from others and credit card companies (sending message about refund or charges, etc.).

I had to chat multiple times with several reps to activate short codes (verification texts that we get from banks and other websites) for two-factor authentication. Each time, they said it was activated but nothing happened. One time, the rep said as per terms and conditions, I cannot get it. Later, another rep activated and it worked fine for a couple of times. Now it is not working again.

But my SMS message to RP (7039) to get balance isn't working well for most of the time since Dec 15. It mostly says "waiting for connection" when I send "BAL" or "GETINFO". Once in a while, it goes through. Today, I discovered something. Whenever I activate Airplane mode on and then turn it off, the "Bal" status changes from "waiting for connection" to "sent". I also get incoming calls for sometime, and then the issue comes back (incoming calls and message not going to RP) eventhough SMS to others works fine all the time. I didn't try this method on my wife's Pixel 3a after inserting RP GSMT SIM.

I tried many commonly used remedies: (a) Under System, I did reset of Wi-Fi, mobile and bluetooth (b) I even tried erase all data - factory reset.

I have another 30-day RP plan for my wife. I am hesitant to port her to Red Pocket GSMT. I also purchased two annual plans (myself and wife) during BF 2020 sale. Few years ago, I was with Red Pocket CDMA for at least 2 years using Samsung S6 Verizon unlocked phone and I did not have any issues.

Any comments? Is this a Pixel 3a and Android 11 issue or Red Pocket GSMT issue? TIA.
