= total for upgrade $553

Like in my scenario, I bought $700 worth of Apple Store gift cards from Target total for $552 (after discounts and etc)
Trade in for my iPhone 11 $350 + $150 Tmo credit = $500
So, cost of the iphone 12 pro is $1000 - 552 - 500 = Comes down to $ -52 (Future credit for Target Store)
Total of $500 out of my pocket.
If I were to get it from Costco;
$900 for iPhone 12 Pro
$375 Trade-in total $525 Out from pocket.

You did not get it. Take a look at the picture of this deal. The trade-in value of iPhone 11 pro is 450, and it is stackable with the shop card offer. So you will get 450+100 off of the iPhone 2 pro price:
$900 - 550 = 350 (out of pocket)
