Very nice looking grill.
I ordered one a week ago and it came without the regulator, ignition assembly and the lid handle 😂. Currently in the process of replacing. Hopefully the new one has all the parts!

I had the "old version" of this and really liked it until I dropped it (or ran it over, I can't remember). I still use it, but the heat is uneven now and the latches don't line up.

edit: I paid $75 on Aug 2018

That's really inadvisable, even if you had a noncombustible surface to place it on. Fire risks aside, severe poisoning from carbon monoxide, which is odorless and colorless is a great risk. Even small amounts can kill you, and grills produce a lot. Even in a garage it's terribly unsafe, which is how people die in cars, unintentionally or otherwise. Stay safe.

Reviews seem to point out many manufacturing defects. Pictures of it look great though

Why would there be carbon monoxide danger from a propane grill but not a natural gas range?

Hard pass on Masterbuilt brand. Went thru 2 electric smokers in less than a year. Sure they have a 1-year parts warranty but rarely have those parts in stock. You also MUST file your claim over the internet. Waiting for the year to end so that my extended warranty thru Square Trade goes into effect.

There are dangers to carbon monoxide poisoning from natural gas also. I have a natural gas fireplace but it is recommended to keep the flute open for venting to keep from having carbon monoxide build-up.

We have been using a vent free gas fireplace for years and no issues. It has an 02 depletion sensor and we also have a carbon monoxide sensor that has never gone off. Then again, an old farm house, although renovated and updated, is not exactly 100% air tight.

Sure, if you don't mind the smoke and smells.... Like a natural gas range, you might want to have a carbon monoxide tester on the wall, but for intermittent use, I don't see the problem. I would not use it on the kitchen table or anything combustible.... but maybe on top of the stove and if you have one, run the exhaust fan.
