In for 500! Gonna give some to my coworkers. Its getting bad here and staff is getting sick...if it keeps even one from getting sick its worth it
I really like these masks for good fit and well made. Piece of mind too as these are on FDA list too. I wear these when going into a supermarket, doctors office or visitng elderly family members. I have both the earloop and headband style. Both fit the same, headband fits a little more snug. All masks like this are worthless if you are unable to properly seal it against your face. Many times I can feel air escaping in the nose area near eyes when blowing out hard. The metal nose strip is a bit on the weak side, that is the only negative of this brand. If I work hard at molding the nose area to my face properly, I can always get the perfect fit with a litle patience.
KN95 is still better that your typical cloth mask or those gaiters people keep wearing.

I got the headbands during the summer when they first became available through this vendor after a lot of research and vetting. I can verify the ones I got are good quality and have anti counterfeit codes that verify with the authorized manufacturer.

Note that only the headband, not the earloop style is FDA authorized. They fit tightly on my face when I take the time to mold it properly and do fit testing.

I also find them easier to breathe through because they're beak shaped, meaning the cover isn't sitting directly on my nose and mouth.

We've stopped using cloth masks (which were a stopgap anyway) in favor of these in our household. When we go out we wear one marked according to a day of the week then hang it up outside and that's extended the life extensively. They're cheap enough that there's no heart break to throw one out when it gets worn (usually we can see the headband graying from sweat and grime) or when we're in some particularly high risk situation (visiting a test site/hospital, costco run) we'll just throw it out regardless of how new it is.

There's still too many people with the false belief that a neck gaiter or a simple cloth mask is sufficient to protect but I've been telling anyone I know that's interested in protecting themselves to get these or a p100 respirator.

If you are going to be indoor in a high positivity rate area, use a kn95. Those surgical mask are not going to cut it unless you can maintain 6 feet and the other person is properly wearing a mask. I been stockpiling Kn95 every time I see a good deal.

.

This is incorrect, the authorization applies to all of their KN95 models and there is testing data for both the earloop and headband by fda showing they meet the standards,

What I do is straighten the nose strip out before putting the mask on and molding it to my nose.

What's your criteria for "can"?

N95 masks are a single use item. They were never designed, intended, or tested to be used more than once. As in, not use for a day, take on and off, all shift. Put it on, take it off, throw it in the trash. Guess what emergency and ICU physicians and nurses have been doing for months? Re-using N95 masks, because there is not much in the way of other options.

Is there some kind of reliable testing and certification of the efficacy of these masks after use and some sort of decontamination procedure? I very highly doubt it.

Do we have data on how long the virus is stable (lasts) on certain surfaces? Yes.

https://www.nejm.org/na101/home/l...73_f1.jpeg

Whether you place a mask in a paper bag or a ziplock bag, it seems very unlikely that the virus will meaningfully remain on it after say a week.

If we say that it is "decontaminated," then, the question is, does it still work as intended after re-use? That is a question of fit and filtration. Does it still fit well enough that air is not constantly going around the mask? Does the filtration integrity last? Hard to say. You can get some sense of this yourself. Is it soiled? Is it frayed or destroyed? Is she shape deformed? Etc.

I re-use these.
Thank you for your detailed response.

I like these masks. The Powecom's I ordered through OD. But 2 weeks ago I ordered 20 earloop + 30 headband direct from Bona Fide. . .and a few days ago I got "order changed to just 10+10 with same total of $50. . .so now I have to ask for partial refund, and am basically losing out on 20 free masks even with the partial refund because of quantity price differences at the time of ordering.

But what's new these days with these type items. . .order again to make up the difference. At least it's more available than Lysol, and for good reason I guess. China upgraded their KN-95 standards a few months ago for their domestic use, and these aren't even usable there anymore. Not that it's old stock, but they can still churn and burn these for export, and at the same time worth ZERO there. Hence the supply

Can these masks be reused more than once?
I re-use my current KN95 masks until it starts to smell funny. Which is about a month or less. But I only use them like 10 times a month for like an hour each time.

Whoever said the headband version of this is the only one authorized is incorrect, as they both have been authorized for months.

I just got my headband style units which I prefer to the ear loops: better fit and more airtight. They fit just as well as my 3M KN95s.

My Honeywells would likely be tight on a baby. I was not impressed with those.
What are headband masks? Can you send a link? I googled and got some weird stuff so I don't think I'm looking at the right thing

I've heard they are great and test way higher than N95. I get mine Monday.
I don't believe that for a second. If you've ever actually been fit-tested for real N95s (which are headband type), you wouldn't either. These are no doubt better than cloth or surgical masks but there's little chance that an ear loop design will get as tight a seal as a headband N95 (or headband KN95, for that matter.)

From the CDC website OP posted, there is the following comment for these masks:
"The test method utilized in this assessment is not the NIOSH standard test procedure that is used for certification of respirators. Respirators assessed to this modified test plan do not meet the requirements of STP-0059, and therefore cannot be considered equivalent to N95 respirators that were tested to STP-0059"

There's an importer in Los Angeles that has them around that price. PM me and I'll dig up their info.

Funny on their Terms and Conditions they state " Face masks and face shields are not FDA cleared or approved". You need to accept the terms to complete your order. I guess if you find out these are fake, then you have no recourse because you agreed to their terms and conditions.
