I'll bite but I do loath supporting either H&R or TurboTax. They spend millions lobbying Politicians to keep the tax code at a level of complexity that keeps them relevant.
Weren't we supposed to get tax reform so we could do our taxes on a 3x5 card?

Question to the experts out there, if I need to file for "1040, Sch 1, Sch 2, Sch 3, 1040-ES, Sch A, Sch B, Sch C, Sch D, Sch E, Sch SE, 2441, 8582, 8867, 8879, 8959, 8960, 8995-A", which version is the best fit? The most expensive one?

Someone else may be able to dig it up but if I recall all the software have the same forms, what is missing is the form guides that help you populate and auto populate those forms for you.

Would H&R Block allow one to upgrade the purchased version to a higher version (with added fee of course) once it's installed on a computer?

You don't need the business (premium) version just because you get a 1099
