Can I install this new Google Nest Thermostat E model?
I just bought a few Google Nest Hub ($50 each) and I'm planning to replace my Ring Pro Doorbell with the Google Nest Hello Doorbell soon when it's on sale again. After that, I need to find a Rosie from the Jetson's and I'll be all set with my smart house.
I disagree and you should read the privacy policy on your google devices. They collect a ton of data from this devices and sell that data to the highest bidder.. don't believe me?. feel free to peruse the policy yourself.. https://nest.com/legal/privacy-st...-services/
Well now I know you're wrong. They don't sell your data. They sell targeted ads on their advertising platform. Also, that privacy statement covers all Nest products, whereas I was just referring to the thermostat. It's simply not possible to collect a "ton" of data from a thermostat. From a Nest smart speaker, sure, but not a thermostat. Don't let your tin foil hat fall off.
Just picked up two in the Charleston, SC area. They only had the new $129.99 model on display but a very helpful employee found them in the back. Didn't ask how many they had; just needed two for the new house with an upstairs and downstairs thermostat.

As others have mentioned, check your local utility company website. There may be a rebate between $50-$100 for Smart Thermostats. This may make this a good to great deal even if your Target only has this marked down to $85 (i.e. 50% off)
One local target that showed in stock did not have any, but another had them for $85 (in a glass case, still marked $169.99). In both scenarios, the Target employees in the electronics department were very helpful.
With a $75 local utility company rebate, it'll come to ~$15 out the door (including tax).

Your probably right and I'm probably being overly paranoid. But you do realize that google likely knows more about you then you do right? This companies main commodity is data.. And let's say for example you are doing some Google search's at home.. Google probably already knows your search history and a bunch of other data points.. now add A thermostat that senses motion, ambient light, temp, humidity, pressure etc... So now Google knows your home and also knows how cold it is in your house and they also have these hundreds of other points of data on you for that day/week... so they serve you up ads for a hot beverage or soup or something like that. Your being manipulated and you don't even realize it. So yea maybe I'm a a bit paranoid but your kidding yourself if you don't think they are using the data from your thermostat to sell you shit.
Went to store last night that was showing $50 on Brick, they couldn't find it.. went to other target that was showing $84.. after electronics employee found them she said they were moving to be "solvent at $0"(her words not mine) so she said she couldn't give it to me for free but she'd be glad to match the $50 from other store.. first time brickseek helped me save a decent amount! great SD!
Brickseek shows "limited stock" at my local store but the employee couldn't find it.
How are you guys getting other stores to price match Brickseek?
I just told her what it was on clearance at the other store at.. and she matched it.. she said she'd only do it because in the system it said they were going to be set to 0 and be solvent so for me it was def a luck of the draw.
Found several in a Walmart, still marked at $129 ea. Haggled with management to price match Target, who was all sold out, got it for $50, the Target price.
