For birding or hunting enthusiasts, this is a great mid-range scope that has a call-in special. When I called in they offered $50 off the price of $699, making it $649 with free shipping and a FREE Vortex tripod and tripod head. The combo they're offering is pretty good stuff (not a cheap tripod, a decent tool) and retails for $199 by itself. To get the deal, call in to get the discount, then they will either offer to take care of it over the phone, or discount your cart. Just add the scope to get the free tripod/head, which adds automatically.

The free tripod deal is good for the Viper 15-45X angled or straight.
The scope is well rated for this range, typically in the "best of.." lists. YMMV on calling for the discount, but that's what they offered me. As of this morning, it still indicates "call for discount".
