I don't see many positive reviews on this model, but I have them so thought I'd put my 2c in. I think a batch of early ones went out that had some sibilance problems that were corrected after reviewers samples went out.

Controls are pretty limited, with a control button on each side that you can program for a long press or double tap to different functions in the app. There's a 'Hear ID' in app hearing test / EQ generator that does a pretty good job compensating for older ears high freq roll off in the higher end.. and you can also tweak the bass, which is a little boomy sometimes. There are several 'producer' eq presets built in so you can get a flavor of various signatures. I listen to a lot of jazz and podcasts and so the midrange performance is important to me, and these do well in that dept. They are clear and unmuffled in the higher registers (very important to me), and the bass can be tamed down if it's too much. Bassheads should like these.

Call performance is meh... the mics are passible if you're in a quiet environment.. but no where close to airpods.

Battery life is great and the case tops them up in between gym visits. I've never run the case out of battery yet, but manufacture claims of 8 hrs / 4 recharges in case seems reasonable.

I have multiple sets of these. I love them. Solid controlled base, good clear mids and highs. Solid sound isolation. These fit well in my ears and stay in through workouts (this obviously depends on your ears). The app EQ is nice to tailor the sound, this last year they added a completely custom EQ option.

Early complaints about hissing are not a problem in my experience. They can be used individually, but it's not as EASY to do (but if you take just one out of the case it pairs fine).

As for calls, I found the mics to be great. I've taken them on windy hikes, and in the car with the AC on full or the windows down and I can still be hears pretty well. I use them for all of my business meetings and calls.

The controls are good, I love that they have buttons instead of touch controls so brushing them or reseating them doesn't cause a button press. I assign the buttons to volume up down on double tap, start stop on single press, and skip / google assistant on long press. I find that to be just great with one button on each earbud.

These sound about as good as my Sony MDR-1A (when you have a good seal in your ear). They are comfortable for me for 4-5 hours straight. I never had the batteries go out on me during use.

My comparisons are Bose Soundports, the Sony MDR-1A cans, Beats powerbeats 2 (garbage), Anker neo, liberty air and liberty air 2.

Great customer service when I had a problem with the charging case acting a little odd. They sent me a whole refurbished set (whole system in original box) and didn't request a return of the charge case.

TLDR super happy with the Liberty 2 Pros

Are these better than the various Samsung offerings (buds plus, buds live) that are frequently available around this price point? Seems like a whole lot of money for an Anker product.

i have buds live and these and they both sound good. You get ambient sound with the galaxy buds. you get sound customization with the ankers. If you're using a samsung phone you might like the instant connection using the samsung buds over the ankers. Also the buds light leak sound more than the ankers. the samsungs are louder too.

Just had to pull them both out, on second thought the samsungs blow these out the water.....

Update 2, i changed the ear tips back to the ones that came with the ankers and now they sound like i remember. they are just as good as the samsung for music. For calls the samsung is better.

I tried these for a few weeks. They sound very good but limited controls and they are BIG. And they don't sound good with everything. Older music doesn't seem to sound great on these. They also aren't very loud. Conversely, the Jabra 75T are louder, smaller, better controls ANC, and have killer bass. I do think the Ankers are more technically accurate, but I prefer the sound of the 75T's instead.

I have these. I have seen many reviews for these that were sub par but I think they are hands down the best buds I've ever owned. (I have 16 different pairs). Soo maybe I just won the earbud lotto?
