This looks like a Star Wars Empire spacecraft.
its costco model only and RAX78 is tri band(0.4Gbps,1Gbps,4.8Gbps) has 4 LAN port and 1 usb where as RAX80 is dual band (1.2Gbps,4.8Gbps)has 5 LAN port and 2 usb
Too many variables to consider, such as:

1) Speed of service
2) Distance of device from node
3) Max transmit rate from node to device

If you're using a WiFi 5 device, and you have a WiFi 5 mesh system, it could be just as fast or faster. WiFi 6 devices will connect to a WiFi 6 router like this at a higher transmit rate, but depending on the distance from node to device, overall throughput could be lower than if it was connected to a closer WiFi 5 mesh node.

But if you have a WiFi 6 mesh system, that rules above all at this point in time. You get max coverage and max transmit rates. Hopefully you have at least Gigabit service from your ISP to take advantage of it, because you'll be ISP limited at anything 500Mbps or less (that's where WiFi 5 systems max out).

Netgear is the infamous brand of atrocious and lousy product support. One of the worst that I've seen; worse than no support. I'd pay for a product with no support upfront than buy a netgear.

I personally would not touch Netgear with a 10 foot pole right now. Their firmware is complete garbage with terrible support. I went through several of these stealth bomber routers, and I came to the conclusion that while the hardware looks and feels solid, the software is ultimately a huge weak link. Massive QoS issues, connection drops, throughput dropping for no apparent reason, I could go on and on. I switched to Asus routers at half the price and very rarely have any issues at all.

Router is ~340 everywhere else. I bought it at 299 since it was a decent deal then, now getting it price adjusted to 230. I've been super happy with its performance and coverage. I'm on gigabit fiber, 3 story/ 3000 sq ft. with the router on the middle floor on one side of the house. Can easily get the second story office on the far corner with only dropping one bar. Speeds have been great.

TP-Link at (almost) any cost. (I still think it's too early for AX, but what do I know)

I had 2 of these routers a while back. Maybe they fixed it with firmware... most likely not though. I really wanted it as it looks amazing. Both of them had zero consistency which is kind of what you want from a router. Total let down..and I hate to say that.

If you need to use this thru walls at long distances, get an ac model. We have an ax3000 and it has trouble at certain angles, going thru a few walls and a mirror

I have the RAX80 and it has worked out great for me. I decided to go w/ WIFI6 router and the range it supports way exceeded my need. If you have a larger house, I think a mesh system albeit WIFI5 is probably better because coverage is the key.

RAX80 had issues w/ its firmware when it was first released. The firmware issue has been fixed since then. I bought it last year around Mar or Apr 2020.

One can add additional functionality (optware) to asus routers using asusmerlin firmware. Can't do the same with netgear. You're stuck with the bloated crapware that they offer.

It seems this does not support OFDMA to optimize speed like the RAX80:

ODFMA is part of the WiFi 6 spec, I knew this is too good to be true.

it seems like routers often fail after 2 years or so.

~$50 tp Archers have served me pretty well.

I like the way this one looks though... it would be cool if it were like a puppet or robot or something, had a place to put hot drinks or soup on it.
