excerpt from review: "In our battery rundown test, which streams HD video over Wi-Fi at full brightness, the phone lasted an amazing 18 hours and 11 minutes. That's a significant jump compared with the Moto G7 Power (14 hours, 29 minutes) and one of the best battery life results we've seen in some time. With conservative use, we think the Moto G Power can probably last two days between charges."

From what I've read the 2021 Moto G(9) series has been downgraded on some features. CPU and Display downgraded but with a better camera and slightly bigger screen
2020 has 15w charging vs 10w 2021, 2020 does 4k UHD video vs HD on 2021
2020- dual stereo speakers - 2021 single speaker

I was hoping to stay with my current provider (T-mobile) without having to wait 12-months for the Tracfone lock to expire on this phone. I know some other providers, you can just enter an unlock code (for example purchased from ebay) to bypass the 12-month requirement.
I basically want to use this phone now...instead of having it sit in a drawer for a year.

Right now, the phone is $49 + ~$50 for 2 mo. of service w/ tax/fee = ~$100 out of pocket. After 60 days, they will give you $49 Fi credit = 2 additional months. So, basically it is around $100 for a unlocked Moto G Power (2020) with 4 month of services + maybe $1-2/mo on data (100-200 MB per mo which is a reasonable assumption since you are considering this Tracfone annual plan).
