Woot loves non-deals on outdated-amazon-tech as their front page trying to unload a bunch of stuff that even Amazon couldn't sell. Then in a week it will end up back on Amazon for less. It's so common you can set your watch to it.

They wouldn't have a mountain stock that has lasted over a year at this price if there wasn't a ton of these being returned constantly. Just search SlickDeals for how many times this has been posted here... and that's just when it's been posted. These show up like every single month.

The original owner of Woot didn't want to sell to Amazon. Amazon pressured Woot to sell the website so they could unload all their crap on there. Amazon told the Woot owner either to sell the site or Amazon would put them out of business.

reviews are saying the 2nd gen cube and firestick 4k are both better than the 1st gen cube...not much reason to get the 1st gen cube for 40 when the 4k stick is also 40 on amazon.

The echo dot kids is good since it comes with 1year free time unlimited. I have lots of echo dot but you need to pay $2.99 per month for freetime unlimited unless you buy a kids edition tablet or dot for 1 year free. Remember not to auto renew.

The 2nd gen Cube is great though as a DVR device. It does not lag and is not buggy. I have a 256 GB external drive hooked up to it and the Cube recognizes it as internal memory (not external) unlike the fire sticks.

I guess you could use the 1st gen Cube on a part-time TV or use it as a recording device only, but not as your primary media player. I use it in my kitchen on a 2k monitor.

That is not the case with woot in my experience.
Amazon Warehouse is like you described.
Woot refurb or used, which appears to be the same thing, is the stuff that appears to be not good enough to be sold as Amazon Warehouse.
