The sound is terrific. However there is a limited per micro SD card of 128gb. In addition, the music needs to be imported into the device. You can not simply insert an SD card and listen.

If you're taking the trouble to play your own music files supposedly on a hi-fi device... why the hell would you care if there's bluetooth on it? Some of these posts make no sense and clearly aren't the audience for this device.

I paid $200 for the previous model NWA-45 in 2017 and have loved it. I use it nearly daily and the battery life has held up very well. I've always preferred having a dedicated audio player from my phone because of how much music I have and for battery purposes. To me the sound quality is fantastic. I've used a 512gb card without issue and there are cheap 3rd party cases and screen protectors.

As others have mentioned there are definitely cons. The software is very simple and building playlists is a nightmare. 3rd party software definitely recommend for organizing/tagging tracks. Sony also loves their proprietary charging/data cables which is always annoying.

If you're looking for a dedicated Hi-Res audio player not running Android I think this is a great starting point. From what I've read their newer Android based models have much worse battery life.

Bought one of these today. Looking to use with my Sony 1000Xm4 headphones and try to get into a little hi res music. Would like to see if any better then using Tidal on the iPhone.
