Convenience factor.

The Switch is a portable console. If I can buy a 512GB SD card and store every single game I own for it, it becomes even more portable.

And when it's in docked mode, nothing beats being able to switch between games like you're browsing your Steam library.

Plus, a lot of people have small children or pets. The bitterant they added to dissuade putting the cartridges in your mouth isn't that effective (put your tongue to one of the cartridges if you're skeptical).

My 7yr old loves playing odyssey since its release and keeps going back to it to collect more things. He's currently playing 3d world. Smash , mario kart, and Mario party is fun to play in a group.
