For those that don't have covered storage or shelter, this is great for keep your charcoal dry and protected from rain and/or outdoor elements.

I don't understand the gatekeeping and judgement
Why not just buy a few home depot buckets lol
Well see that's the funny thing about this design. These containers are designed for you to pick up and tip over to get product out of them without need of a scoop. The problem here is that they made a really big one and said it's for charcoal, which is a pretty heavy product...

Honestly, good container for something like cereal and those lightweight variation kitty litters, but not rice and charcoal.

we use the 35-lb purina cat litter bucket to store charcoal long term.. in case theres other cat-owning charcoal grillers out there... save ya $12
I say this in no uncertain terms, you are a genius. The kitty litter is basically free and you are paying $15 for the bucket.

These are great for pellets more than charcoal. Charcoal is fine in the bag but pellets can't tolerate the humidity as well.

Edit: Found $12 one by going to the app and searching
Careful, the one on Amazon for $12 is half the size of the one I posted. The one I posted can hold a 40lb bag of pellets. The $12 one also ships in 1-4 weeks

Anyone who could afford that volume of cocaine would not be hunting for deals on containers to store it in
One doesn't afford cocaine in volume if they aren't thrifty in other areas.

As an alternative I use this for charcoal. A rustproof metal waterproof can. It's a more expensive but they do go on sale but it will last way longer than this container and it's rodent proof if you're storing food items. Just presenting an alternative depending on your use case.

Yes - which is why the first post has said this for almost 24 hours:
Amazon price appears to have already jumped to 14.98

The Container Store price of 11.99 is still valid

Pointless, should be made of metal with scoop, pouring out charcoal is dust disaster and yea this is a glorified pet food container. Usually "free" with certain pet food bundles.

Make work consumerism is hilarious

Right? Not everyone has a garage or shed to store their charcoal. If you don't you're likely hauling the bag in and out of a utility room or something every time you want to grill. This will let those people keep their charcoal outside next to their grill. The same people complaining probably waste a lot more than $12 on stuff that's even less useful.

FYI - OP here. Picked up 2 from the local Container Store. Price on the shelf was slightly higher but they gladly matched their online price without hassle. On the way home, picked up a 40lb bag of pellets that will go into one of them.
