Looks like this requires a credit pull.
It's the body of an iPhone 8 with the processor of an 11. Using older parts makes it cheaper to manufacture. Great phone for price
The first upgrade showed up on my account. No bill credits, financed amount of $149. Says I can pay off in a couple weeks online.

It does say, "Requires 30 months, 0% APR installment agreement" ... So can't be sure they'll allow paying it off....

I just tried it through AT&T and got the same deal on my.att.com it also allowed to trade in an old phone for a $150 credit, plus activation fee waived. So the phone is free. The att website states no plenty for paying off the balance early, credits don't start until 3 billing cycles. Seems like they have the same deal for XS.

Far from a steal it's an iPhone SE 64GB. The previous deal was way better for $200 iPhone XS Max..
Didn't see any XS Max on this thread so it's irrelevant but thanks, I concede to your knowledge and power.

People on this thread crack me up. Walmart has iPhone SE for $149 on postpaid and prepaid. Plenty of options. All require activation. If you already have a postpaid account this is a no brainer. Upgrade, pay it off early. If you don't have postpaid then go with the AT&T Prepaid option. It's locked to AT&T but works with all AT&T MVNO or use for 6mo. Unlock it and use as desired.
How do you get the prepaid option? In store only?

Edit, I located the prepaid option online but the price is $249

This deal doesn't require trade. Depending on what device you have you may be better off going through Walmart.

Yes. In store only. Requires activation and autopay on $40 plan. You can simply turn off auto pay and let plan die out or use on AT&T Prepaid. Their plans are quite good now.

This is a $50 additional discount that's been going on for this phone since pretty much day 1. Walmart is essentially putting a $250 down payment on this phone on your behalf. You do have to sign up for 30 month financing but you can pay it off at any time. The amount financed is $149 not $399 minus $x /mo in bill credits.

I see. Apologies for my typo before that post paid was $250, I obviously meant prepaid (this is a thread about post paid!) but the prepaid price is $250 online.

AT&T pre-paid is $150 in store. Got it.

To get the iphone for free through Att it required a trade in, but to get the same deal as the Walmart deal it did not require a trade in.

You can pay it off. I had a phone that I owed 3 months, but needed to unlock it for travel overseas, and they wouldn't do it until it was paid. I paid the remaining 3 month credits on my online ATT account and got them to unlock it shortly after payment was confirmed.

Usually these deals are done via monthly bill credits spread out over 24-30 months. So if you pay it off early, which you can do, you lose the deal and pay full price.

If that's not the case here someone please chime in.
I bought the 256 GB for $299 on this deal with Verizon 2 das ago. Showed up in my account quickly. Says I can pay it off in full later this month.
Seeing as this isn't a "bill credit" type deal, I'm 99% sure you would pay it off in full at the price shown.

FYI..it is clearly mentioned in this AT&T Retail Installment Sales Agreement.. No Prepayment Penalty.. Once At&t online account shows the payment installment, then you will be able to pay offs the balance..
BTW..YOU will be signing these documents in the later part of the checkout process

Are you required to sign a 30-month contract or are you only bound by the monthly payments (which we've established can be paid early)?
