Great price. Bought one from dwr last year. If you are looking for the classic look, you will need to purchase the black MCL leather from dwr. If you're also over 6ft tall, you need the tall version. This is the full grain leather, standard height
It's an iconic chair that is obscenely expensive for what it is. I bought mine lightly used off craigslist for 2250. I recommend shopping around first.

I still feel regret for spending that much lol.
Sales man slaps chair, "Molded Plywood Technology."

Serious question. Does anyone have this chair also have an Aeron or Embody chair? I was actually just thinking the other day that I'd love an Aeron for the living room, as I have a bad back and the couch exacerbates it. The Aeron is the only thing that doesn't (besides standing or lying down in bed). How is the Eames for ergonomics--besides design, it's what HM is known for.

I've always admired the design on these, but couldn't get behind the price. But with Costco's unbeatable guarantee, might be worth giving it a shot.
Completely off topic....I spent days lying on the floor with a bad back and see the chiro every second day....Pilates with a good instructor is the best thing I found to date

I bought an Aeron chair for my office back in 1996 (1995?) when they first came out...paid under $700 at the time.

I've been using it every day for a quarter of a century...the seat is beginning to get worn, but it's been one of the best purchases of my life.

for those who are curious why so expensive... I'm a furniture designer, office chairs to be exact for a major manufacturer. Good design costs money, good designs from famous designers cost even more money. The Eames lounge chair is about as iconic as Frank Lloyd Wright work(architecture). Mid century design that's classic and never goes out of style. And if you been to airports which I'm sure most of you have, those black leather seating with aluminum arms are also designed by Eames. And they are very expensive!

I have this & an Aeron. They are completely different both for ergonomics and purpose.

Aeron is a wonderful chair for office work - you sit flat, feet planted firmly on the ground, great lower back support, etc. It looks like an office chair - very utilitarian, and would not look at home in a living room.

Sitting in the lounge chair has been described as if sitting in an old baseball glove. I can confirm, easily the most comfortable chair I've sat in. It's my favorite seat in the LR - both functional and beautiful. However it doesn't have modern ergonomic features, and is way too low to use as an office chair. If you enjoyed lounging in a bean bag as a kid, this would be a similar body position.
Thanks, you may have saved me $4,500.

Main thing though--does it curve inward at the lower back (lordosis)?

"DWR" stands for Design Within Reach. Hmm $4500 sounds more like "OMR" - "Outta My Reach"

Your argument was auto-destroyed when you just compared them to Supreme.

Imagine thinking that being from BFE means you know furniture, only to prove you absolutely know nothing about furniture within the same paragraph.
The crazy thing is High Point is basically a tourist trap where people think they're buying American furniture when in reality it is mostly just cheap crap sold at inflated prices like an outlet mall.

I actually like the look of them but they look uncomfy to me. Is it actually comfortable? I'm always attracted to the most ugly furniture I like room and board because their furniture is somewhat good looking but still comfy. It's kind of expensive but will last forever..
They are amazingly comfortable

I don't think my custom NC manufacturered couch cost this much.

Looks like a nice chair though, just not for my income bracket.
