Alright I am here to give people what you need:
1. This model is old model, the new model is NEW XPS 13 and XPS 13 2in1. The new model has 16:10 screen and older model is 16:9 screen.
2. The deal is decent, if you are okay with 10th gen chip. 10th chip is not bad, but 11th chip has better graphics.
3. Amex $100 credit works on this deal
4. Cash back site works for this deal, don't forget.
5. My deal was: I placed an order for 11th gen XPS 13 2in1 with Save17 code and employee discount 17% ( must be an employee) + cash back site + Amex card $100. Original price $1580 including tax. After discount:950
6. Try chat with Customer service after order and before shipping, they might give you a good will credit. I got $100. My total cost to my XPS came out to be $850 after tax.
7. RAM in all XPS 13 is not upgradable. Choose smartly.
Lol, how will I replicate an employee discount? Talk about playing the long game "why are you interested in this job?" "To save 17% on an XPS sir"

For the xps13 specifically, 9310 is the current gen model for laptop or 2 in 1, 9305 is the current gen budget version. Not sure if you can see the actual model number until after you add it to cart and then expand the specs.

Go to LinkedIn, search Dell, find an alumni, ask for help. That's what I did.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the current model XPS 13 is on the 11th Gen Intel chips. So I believe this model is 1 year old. Still a great deal at this price.
No, two years old. This isn't true 10th gen processor

Not a gaming laptop. You need to find something else for music processing. A stronger pc.

CPU is fine on this model, you will not get more CPU at this price. 16GB of ram will be fine in most applications. These things are bright and have great screens, 400-500 nits.

A consideration is getting an external GPU enclosure if you want to game, will allow you to have more battery life and portability when on the road but game when at home.

That's a great idea to mainly just want to play Cod. This will mainly be a dj cpu but I need at least a 1tb drive internal. I'm very tech savvy so I can put one in just wasnt sure how hard it was

According to the service manual for this laptop, you can swap for another NVME drive. https://dl.dell.com/topicspdf/xps..._en-us.pdf

Good deal for a 16GB RAM version, even if the CPU is a bit older.

For anyone wanting to swap the NVMe drive I believe you'll need star bits. (At least that was the case the last time I had to get my hands dirty inside one a could gens back)

If you are playing games and jerking off to VR porn, this isn't the laptop to get. For everything else(like web/work/travel), this is the flagship Dell laptop. A year old, but still built like a tank. I have this model(ubuntu revision). It just works. Automatic firmware and software updates. Amazing screen.

I'd spend a bit more and get a Gen 11 intel laptop (such as the NEW XPS 13). The integrated graphics will be able to play COD, it'll have a longer battery life and a fair bit more power. It'll cost more but will last a good chunk longer. Additionally, Thunderbolt 4 will make it more future-proof. (not sure if this one has that)

Nope.
My 6 year old XPS-15 still seems fast and it's built like a tank. I upgraded the SSD.
