I appreciate you sharing this deal, and I don't mean to threadcrap, but I dislike this product - a lot. In fact, I have over $30,000 worth of smart home products [google.com], and this is likely the worst one from a name brand.

Approximately 2 to 3 times a month, the light bulbs will disconnect from the WiFi for seemingly no reason. When that happens, I need to go into the app and re-add the bulbs. The process doesn't take long - if it works smoothly, I can do it within 2 minutes, but sometimes the bulbs don't add right away and can take up to 6 minutes. The issue is that when the bulbs disconnect, they change to their default color of warm white and flash nonstop. Imagine having a guest or family member in the bathroom and having the light bulbs flash, and the person's only option is to turn off the lights completely or live with it until the person finishes his or her business. Because I'm the only person with the app, only I can add the bulbs back to the app.

I use Lutron Caseta smart switches in virtually every room in my house other than the bathroom, where I use these Feit light bulbs because a smart switch could not be installed. I'll be getting rid of these lights soon and will likely not consider Feit smart products for a long while.

Update: Okay, it looks like lots of other people in this thread also noted that this product has a tendency to disconnect and flash, so I don't feel as bad about the negative feedback I provided.

I hope this helps and isn't too mean! Take care,
Tofu Vic
My parents have had these for the last two years. They work well and they use them on the front porch (set as a timer) to turn on each night and it's still working even though it's partially exposed to the elements. They also have two in their bed lamps but sometimes find them annoying cause they'll occasionally reset if they get unplugged.
These aren't great. I've bought 6 of them, and 4 of them went bad within a few months. Returned them to Costco and they just threw up with all the other bulbs (apparently I'm not the only one). The app is clunky at best. If the bulb loses its connection/unpairs itself, it goes to 100% bright and starts flashing every second (not a great way to wake up). I'd stay away, stick with hue

I was also facing similar issues. Now I flashed all my Feit bulbs with Tasmota and it is working fine now with local connection.

Their firmware can be flushed, also they can be added in the TuyaSmart app. I had it integrated with HomeBridge and the bulbs all showed up in Apple HomeKit.
Can you confirm that you can flash these units? I heard that they switched to either a newer firmware or chipset that wasn't flashable.

I have 11 of these bulbs in my home. I used to run into the occasional network issue, but since I upgraded my router to a Netgear Nighthawk with dual 2.4ghz and 5ghz, connecting these and all my Alexa devices to 2.4ghz and my PCs to 5ghz, I haven't had a single issue. These have served me well for several years.

So why wouldn't Casitas work where you used these? If you could not install switch in walk did you consider installing in a hidden place like the attic. I have multiple in my attic with remotes stuck where they are needed

I have had 4 for 6 months now and so far no issues. Just ordered another 4 for a few other places in the house. I will say the 4 I am currently using are in the same room as my router, so this might change things...

Had to use an old tablet with 2.4ghz band to program them initially but they've been stable for me.

I suspect people who have problems with them resetting have bad power lines. They go into reset/pairing mode if you flick the power switch a few times. Power glitches will most likely cause the same effect...

FWIW I've had non-RBG non-WiFi Feit 60W 2700K bulbs installed in a ceiling fan fixture for several years and absolutely no issues. Yes, this is a different kind of bulb, but it sounds like the issues folks are having have to do with the WiFi side of things, not the lighting side. They probably need better firmware, to better deal with WiFi issues and not lose connection so often and then not automatically reconnect.

I'm also wondering if they're targets for hackers driving down the street and how secure they are. Make sure your routers are secure!

I was hoping to get bulbs like these, but based on all the negative comments I think I'll pass, and get ones like these:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DSPXKGW

From the specs it sounds like they have two completely separate LEDs, one white and one RGB, and when in white mode you can "tune" the color temp from 2700K-6500K, as well as dim it, so you don't have to deal with low light levels when changing the white temp from its default as is the case with the Feits and many other non-tunable WiFi RGB LEDs, which appear to simulate alternate white temp in RGB mode.

In store, you can just grab the 2-pack for $10 as well.
I have several and they work great, especially if you do not have a neutral in an electrical box to put in a smart switch.

I love these but they are fickle. Works fine with google home routines and Alexa skills. They do drop WiFi coverage a bit. I fixed this 95% by connecting them to a 2.4 ghz WiFi connection.

Many of the colors especially red cuts the brightness. The daylight, cool white, soft white, etc. work fine and I've set them up to mimic a circadian color scheme.

Fine for $5 but if you're able to wait smart bulbs are coming down in price so you may want to track the wyze bulb.

These have worked outside in winter / zero degree / snow / rainy / hot summer weather when in an enclosure

The BR30s are a better deal but rarely go on sale

This is not what I would call working well ! This comment was helpful as it seems to confirm others regarding the poor reliability of the product. Not worth their small price as far as I am concerned.

How is this a Front Page Post when everyone is saying how horrible a product it is?
Because the product Isnt that horrible and people are being super nitpicky for the price. It's smart bulbs that don't require a hub and works with siri, Android and Alexa for $5 a bulb. You get what you pay for.

Slick deals comments section is virtually worthless these days.

I stopped buying Feit led bulbs. They fail all the time and it's just too much hassle to pull the ladder out to change them constantly.

What is interesting I had forgotten that I had half a box of Feit bulbs left, so I thought I guess I might as well just use up what I have. Well, none of the 3 bulbs in that box lasted more than 3 weeks. Seems like they degrade by time, even if completely unused. I think 75% of all the Feit bulbs I had failed in less than a year, several within just a few months of light use.
