I used a 4XL for about 1 year. It is a solid phone with good battery life. The camera is unbeatable for still photos.

My bbiggest gripe was there is no fingerprint sensor, only face unlock. Face unlock on the 4XL is super fast and works in almost any lighting. But in a this time of wearing a mask, a fingerprint sensor would be great.

The Pixel 4 XLs are riddled with issues - poor internal connections causing random shut offs, battery issues, face unlock not working. Plus Google's support is incompetent and useless. They just send you to UbreakIfixit, should be UbreakIbreakmore, where they guess at the issue and cause more issues than what you started with.

The original Pixel (and XL) is the only one that will have unlimited photo storage in original quality. The rest only have unlimited, compressed "high quality" storage. But you can buy a used original Pixel and use it to uploads your photos in original quality. Or just use Amazon Prime.

Edit 2: obviously I was referring to when the Pixel 3's original quality free storage runs out next January, that the Pixel 1 will be the only one remaining with it.

Also hopefully these are good quality. Maybe someone who got one the last time from this seller can chime in.

This is not true, I cannot speak for the Pixel 4 because I do not own it and have not looked into it, but the Pixel 3 and 3XL have free unlimited lifetime storage in original quality for all photos take before January 2022. After January 2022, anything already taken will stay free and in original quality. I don't see this phone lasting much longer than that anyway.

Last year I went thru 2 different 4xls before I settled on a OP7Tpro. Nothing but annoying little issues that shouldn't happen. None so far with OP

The last pixel model to offer the free unlimited photo backup at original quality was the 3 and 3 XL (I know, I have one).

I have seen numerous people who have had to RMA their phone, and subsequent replacement phones, 4 plus times to finally get one without issues.

If your battery randomly stays at 50% or your phone is shutting itself down in your pocket get ready...

When it comes time to replace the battery, there's a 50/50 chance the screen will crack. Unlike Samsung phones where the back gets detached, on Pixels the screen has to be pulled off. Ridiculous design in terms of repairability.

Mine has been flawless. I was worried about it after all the hate it got from journalists and reviewers, but honestly it is the best Pixel I've owned. I just turned Soli off (gestures) and forced 90hz on the display. After Covid, I do wish it had fingerprint instead of face recognition. That's about my only gripe.
