Unlike a lot of 3070 laptops on the market, this one is full power with this reviewer claiming it peaked at 165W playing Cyberpunk: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tIEBGpatHQE

Fastest 3070 laptop tested: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NVfgWSu7vyw

And unlike every other manufacturer MSI actually lets you undervolt the inefficient Intel 10th gen CPU. Even after Plundervolt. Why is this important? It greatly reduces power consumption. Laptops are always thermally challenged so it means you can run faster, cooler, and quieter. I only got a -.060V offset to be 100% stable in stress tests (most get more), but this still gave me a 20-30% increase in performance/watt. Link to how I UVed mine: https://www.techpowerup.com/forum...75.279412/

Plus, Intel laptops are still faster in games vs Ryzen 5000 series. That's before UV: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5sNOv3ELXmE

MSI spec sheet here, GP66 Leopard 10UG-465: https://www.msi.com/Laptop/GP66-L...cification

Another review: https://www.ign.com/articles/msi-...ard-review

Anyone who buys from Costco gets 90 day returns and a 2 year warranty.

If you are looking for maximum gaming performance in a 3070 laptop, and you don't want to wait, I think this is a very good deal.

I'll be waiting for the 11th gen CPUs (with a 3070/80 GPU) if I end up going Intel. I've heard they're more efficient, and hopefully then I wouldn't have to muck around with undervolting like OP is suggesting.

Nice laptop. Amazon had the 10UG-217 version for $1750 a few weeks ago and I snapped it up. That one has 32GB of ram and the 10870h CPU.

It's handled everything we've thrown at it from a gaming perspective. Very fast. It's a bit of a chonker compared to most laptops these days but not bad. That's the price you pay for the additional cooling potential for the higher spec GPU. I had an Asus Dash which also has a 3070 in it. The Asus was more svelte but the 3070 in it was probably a good 20-25% slower.

They will definitely be better! UV is always a good idea, though.

This laptop is not serviceable. If you need to upgrade anything on it. It is very difficult to upgrade.
Also, 144hz 1080p display bottleneck the performance of rtx3070

ConfusedConfused You service it and upgrade it just like every other laptop. Remove some screws and take off the bottom cover.

People paying this kind of money for a gaming laptop are playing games where the graphic horsepower can be used. You won't be >144Hz in any recent AAA game at high settings.

Just watch own or disown review of this laptop. The laptop is not easily serviceable. I know we can do it, but would take a lot of effort as compare to other laptops. Also, For full Rtx3070 GPU, 1080p screen will be cpu bottlenecked as it comes with 6core intel cpu. I feel the display should be QHD to reduce cpu bottleneck.
And many FPS games would able to get 144 fps on medium setting.
I would expect atleast 240-300hz 1080p display or 165hz qhd display for this price point.

You're right, the Leopard is much faster in games. It's >20% faster (on average) than the ROG Strix with a 5900 and a 3070 in this review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NVfgWSu7vyw

Cool, still doesn't justify the price tag with average display.

I don't see where he supports either of your conjectures. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gYdOtDPf2wg

Though it would be nice to have an 8 core CPU, do have any evidence that 6 cores will be a "bottleneck"? I've searched and found nothing to support that.
