I have this trimmer and I'm not impressed much with its power. I love all my other DeWalt cordless tools, but this trimmer lacks the power for regular lawn duty. I use my 60v flex volt battery and it seems to help a bit but still this is an item I'd pass on.

The responses I've read for the newer (foldable) model suggest that this model, with black head, has issues with the head/spool. Can anyone confirm this?
I believe most of the issues were with the non brushless model, the one prior to this.

If it goes out of stock don't expect them to deliver before fall. I placed an order from ACME in December still waiting yet they have the tool for sale currently on their site. I am far from the only person that has happened to with them

It can go through drywall and loose bricks easily. Concrete more than 5in is tough but doable. Slices bones too.

Can this work in place of a lawn mower? The lawn is probably about 2000 sq feet. Becoming to homeowner soon and wondering if it's possible to maintain a minimalist lifestyle.

It'll be a lot of time, and look like crap (uneven height). I'd say get the mower (the dewalt one can fold and hang) and skip the edger if choosing between the two.
