I would say a few things:
The form factor for laptops like Samsung chromebook i5 and this asus is fantastic. It would be hard to get a laptop with these dimensions and screen for the price.
After a couple of years of ownership, the windows machine will be slow. They get bogged down, especially on i3 and 8gb ram. I moved to chrome full time for work and leisure and have lightning speed on all apps and browsing.
I utilize a lot more of the ecosystem on the machine. I also use Citrix for remoting into work. I also do cloud gaming and get high frame rates. I have 3 displays (laptop + 2 monitors).
I get what you saying though. Even if there is a delta in price, you can close it by just saying you don't have to use windows anymore. These machines boot up in full in 5 seconds. There is no pleasure in using windows when you have used alternative options.

I really do not see the point of a Chrome Book.
You probably shouldn't buy one then...
I really don't know why every chromebook thread has to have 4-5 people gracing us with their opinion on the value of a chromebook.
