Pretty decent deal for a Ryzen 7 5800X and a 90W RTX 3060. Notebookcheck.net has already showed that at least with RTX 3070, there is not much of a difference between a 90W version and a 100+ Watt version, like the 110W in some Dell and XMG Laptops, probably because it does not have as many CUDA cores as its bigger brothers which can flex its muscles with increased TDP.

Only one thing I don't like about the Ryzen variant of the Omen Laptop is the USB ports. At this price, at least the Type-C port and one or two USB 3.0 Type-A ports should be having USB 3.2 Gen 2 10 Gbps support, not capped at Gen 1 5 Gbps. If you are using this laptop for editing work where you need to transfer files from fast SSD based external storages or from a very fast UHS-II SD card using a UHS-II to USB Card Reader, you will really have to wait a lot longer compared to a 10 Gbps Port. All the other AMD Ryzen laptops released this year from Asus, Lenovo, Eluktronics, Gigabyte A5...are having at least one 10 Gbps port.

The HP deal could be configured with "more features in keyboard" for like $20 and RAM upgrade for $50.

Overall, they are about the same since you would be dealing with BB rather than HP which can be a nightmare in terms of trying to cancel or return. Plus, HP takes more than a month to ship while you get this much sooner.

Although, this is SD, people here will sell their souls if they can save $5.

Why would someone buy this HP Omen laptop for $1,400 vs the laptop below for $1,150?

That is an Intel processor and the TUF series had major issues with thermal throttling last year.

I would know since my A15 is basically a hair dryer.
