Google Photos announced they would start counting photos uploads against storage after June 1st, 2021 [google.com]. I take a LOT of photos/video and upload a lot onto the platform, even in high quality it is over 4TB uploaded. The storage benefit on Pixel phones are by device, not by account. Also you don't have to actually take the photos on the phone to upload them, just have them on the device. No problem for me especially since I'm loading upwards of 30GB at a time.
I don't mind the people saying "but it's the cloud", and I do have other backups, but the stellar object recognition, mapping of photos, and power of the service they offer can't be beat in my opinion.

Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank minnus
Edit: Also, from reading past threads, people seems to have received the Verizon variant, which is less than ideal.
Pixel is much more fully featured and better all around than even the latest Moto G's. All except updates and maybe battery.
Presently own and using Moto G6, and G Fast, and Pixel 4a5g.
Wonder if the Pixel can be modified to use those custom ROMs(I think they call them) to keep updating? Anyone?

Phone works fine and no language issues. Check if all the US bands are included. Mine works with H2O.
Battery life sucked during the first week (had to charge twice a day), but now it's settled. Charge holds for a day, but I'm not a power user.
