i believe the 3080 and 3090 are the ones at the risk of spikes in power draw (on top of the already high tdp rating, but please correct me if i'm wrong). if you're sticking with midrange like 3060/ti, then this is more than enough.

This current situation with chip and component shortage is making US look like a third world country that only has had bottom of the barrel stuff available and affordable.

Oh, I know. The point wasn't clear.

My point was that even without shortages in many of the third world countries you could always only find these bottom of the barrel units or were affordable while we in the US were spoilt with availability and variety.

With the shortages, US is reduced to that state that people in third world countries always found themselves in. Scrounging around for deals in sub par components.
