It is slightly more powerful than the VEGA 8 Graphics in 4800U and in Photo and Video editing applications, if the applications use GPU Optimization like Premiere Pro, it performs slightly better. However, any editing applications which can leverage higher Core count, 4800U, due to having twice the cores, can perform better. In Adobe Suits, Iris XE normally performs better due to better GPU optimization and Quicksync support.
Soldered RAM. Maybe someone would like to know
Too general a question, but as a brand Lenovo is top tier. Many fortune 500 companies run almost entirely on lenovo hardware.

Levovo has a full product line from cheap tablets to portable workstations. I have had 6 different models of ThinkPad W and P series over the past 10-15 years and they have all been extremely high quality as portable engineering/CAD workstations. I have traveled with them around the world and never had a problem, ever. I have had a couple of cheap lenovo tablets that were underpowered junk. I just bought a Lenovo Duet and am extremely impressed with the quality, can't beats the price point either.

As far as ultra books go, not sure, I have never had a need for an ultrabook. But I have not heard of any class action lawsuits against them, as opposed to companies like Apple shipping known bad keyboards and such on the MacBooks. And people consider Apple to be high quality. How horrible would Apple quality be if they attempted to compete at this price point?

Has anyone used this with a Dell WD15 dock? I've read that the dock can supply non-Dell laptops with 60W of power but this ThinkBook comes with a 65W adapter. Not sure it will be enough to run the monitors and charge the laptop.

MP4 is just a video container and you actually need to use a modern codec like H264, also known as AVC or H265, known as HEVC. HEVC offers twice the compression over AVC. For this kind of video encoding, if you use pure CPU based encoding in tools like handbrake or Staxrip, 4800U will be far superior due twice the number of cores and it'll be faster than your 8750H.
However, for encoding, I won't suggest this small Ultrabooks but a powerful laptop with powerful CPU and nvidia GPU. If you have a higher end nVidia graphics card, you can use the NVENC Encoder which use Nvidia graphics card for encoding and can complete encodingbin a 2 hours movie in less than 10 mins. look for something with a Ryzen 7 4800H and GTX 1660 to or rtx 2060 graphics. Lenovo Legion 5 AMD version, runs around $1000 to $1100 and I think those will be better choice. What's your budget?
Wow, thank you for all of this info. My budget would be around $1,200, so your suggestion may be the answer for me. I don't know much about codec, I just know that the videos from my mom's estate that I paid to have digitized, had the "mpg" extension and were not playable from my cell phone, but could be played from my computer. I have an older version of adobe premiere elements (version 14.1) that gave me the option to "export and share" to a file with an "mp4" extension that I found I could play from my cell phone. But I have a lot of videos to convert, and I need a second laptop anyway, so I wanted to be able to have one to make this easier. I looked at some comments on AMD and saw there was concern with the older version of Adobe Premiere having issues. Apparently Adobe Premiere Pro 14.2 no longer has the issue, according to the comment. So, I may have to upgrade my software as well to benefit from AMD processor?

You don't need even need Adobe Premiere Pro to convert a mpg file to mp4. The encoders I've mentioned above like Handbrake, will do it. All these are free tools. Just drag the mpg file in Handbrake and then select a preset. But you actually need to know some details of the source file so that you can chose correct output. Just check some YouTube Videos as it's very easy to find out. Reason I'm saying is that mpg videos are mainly encoded using MPEG2 Codec and modern mp4 files used H264 or H265 Codec which offer 4 and 8 times compression over MPEG2. So, if you can actually have a file size which is 4 or 8 times smaller. That's why you need to know the resolution, Codec, frame rate and nitrate of the source file and output file should have same resolution, frame rate but 4 or 8 times of the nitrate based on h264 or h265 Codec. Otherwise you may actually end up with a bigger and poor quality output.
And yes, upgrading Premiere Pro to latest version will benefit AMD Processor and the integrated graphics

Normally monitors have their own Power source, you know. They don't need the power from the dock or hub.

Yes it might be slightly slower charging than the 65 W one you would have to see. It could be faster or slower depending on how it works and the real W that is provided.

From the description of this adaptor.

"The Dell Dock provides a common docking experience for both Dell and non-Dell platforms via Display Port over USB Type-C"

This has Display Port so it should work just fine.

Has Lenovo quality improved over the last few years? I had one in 2016 and it was beyond terrible.

I still have my Lenovo from pre-2009 (my earliest email regarding it is from complaining about the free windows 10 upgrade, so I must have bought the laptop prior to October 2009).

It outlasted another laptop I bought since then. When the new one died I pulled the Lenovo out and it's still chugging along. It sounds like the fan is unhappy and it gets a little warm but it's still working 12 years later as my primary laptop.

Thinking about buying this one just because Lenovo is my #1 brand and I figure mine will die eventually.

When did they get rid of the mouse nipple thing in the middle of the keyboard? I love those

I think those are only in thinkpads?

Typing on the same model from last deal. It's awesome, No complains so far. Did a format and manually installed Win 10 Pro and all drivers.. Works like a charm, no bloatware.

It's Fast, Light weight and Nice to look at.

My 11+ year old Gateway/Acer plastic laptop is still running strong with hardly any cracks, just a bad delete key. But I'm hoping that its replacement will be metal. Just cooler.

I have a 10 year old T530 with an FHD screen with 100% RGB coverage, still no cracks, only minor scratches. Same with my 7 year old T450s and x250s - Lenovo has good build quality, same with Macbooks.
