what makes this cool is the nostalgic collectability of it. you arent just buying mario for $40, which anyone buying prolly already owns on switch. if anything, its those retro consoles that are worthless. anyone actually wanting to play any of those games can buy em digitally on a console or pc they already own.

40 years ago Nintendo released very dumbed down handheld games (not the actual game) that had the same look/configuration as this. For the time, before the game boy was a thing, they were fun and made kids happy. This is a callback and nostalgia trip for those of us that had those Game & Watch games.

Anyone who says "not worth it" is either a zoomer or a fake gamer. In this case being locked into a single game on a very nice feeling handheld is not a bad thing. I have probably 30+ hours logged on mine.

Also they can be hacked, it's just not easy.

I had a few of these games back in the 80s pre-NES/Gameboy, these put Nintendo on the map. I had Popeye and a few others, they can be found on eBay for $$$. This is worth it for the nostalgia, and obviously an upgraded game (the original game/watch were very basic games).

In terms of hardware and skill required, it's NOT that difficult to hack. Likely not worth the effort, as you'd want to solder on a larger memory chip.​
