Up to 830 is because if you buy 12mini it will have trade in credit or only $730 and not $830 and it you buy 12pro or pro max then you will only get $830 and rest will be on you. That's what upto $830 means so yes iPhone 8 will get you upto $830 depending on the device you choose
Where is Costco? They use to have similar deal as Tmobile but not lately. Wonder if we didn't kill the golden goose by canceling "new line" after getting the rebate.
For those of you trying to get a phone from SWAPPA like a iPhone 8 or S9 series, make sure you do order from an individual seller where the item/images clearly display the listing number.

In that case it's a unique listing offer and the IMEI will be displayed on the sales page right after your purchase. If you order good quality or spend $10 more for mint you should be golden. Once purchased on the sales page you will see the serial number (IMEI):

If you order from an enterprise seller with generic images and none displays the unique listing number the IMEI will NOT show up and you may have to wait until they are back in the office on Monday and the deal could be over.

Thank you. I got the 11 pro for 900 with tax because someone I know works at Apple. So if T-Mobile is giving 830 it's not a big difference to lose ? Also I don't know where I can find an 8 from since this ends today. Do we get time to submit the trade in phone ?
a few people are buying it at micro center for 200
swappa as well

technically, if you go to Costco, you just need the imei. The issue is that they are showing out of stock at the moment.

So I guess if you really want the 12, trade the 11 pro.

Can't seem to find anyone that's talked about this but how long does it usually take for the trade in company to approve the trade in?
Average about 5-7 days after the delivery date ( my experience )

Microcenter in Vienna, VA is out. They had 21 for $200. I purchased two and in a few hours they were down to 4 ( SD and TM effect lol ), the price was increased to $250 though

Can someone please explain how this works for 11 pro trade in ? Say I trade in the device for 12 pro. Then I pay the tax of 60$ upfront and then 999/24 - 830/24 = 7.03/ month payment, correct ?
As another person mentioned, I would not trade in an 11 pro for a 12 pro. "Unless" you are having really bad battery issues. The latest iphone 14.5.1 upgrade addressed a battery health reporting issue for just the iphone 11 series phones. And lots of people have complained about battery reporting issues with the 11 series.

If you really want to trade in the 11 pro, wait for the 13 to debut or wait until TMO introduces another deal like this ..... maybe Black Friday or next Mother's day.

Not a troll question - as someone who's been using all screen phones with a pop up front camera as well as phones with a tiny punch hole camera in the corner, IPhone users -- doesn't that huge notch bother you? When you watch a video full screen one side of the screen has a huge black void it doesn't drive you nuts?
I don't watch videos on my phone, so not a big deal at all.

In all honesty, it was a concern of mine too when going to the iPhone XS Max for the first time. It's not an issue.. you get over the notch right away and don't really notice it. At least that's how it is for me the few times I do stream on my phone.

did you get the imei ?

from whom you bough it from
No, I did not ever get the IMEI. So if any condescending SDers here complain about others repetitively asking if Swappa provides IMEI after purchase, tell those whiners to F off. Or I will on your behalf, because I just found out not all types of Swappa sellers do provide the IMEI instantly.

I purchased from an Enterprise seller on Swappa. I was unaware what that meant until another SDer kindly pointed out that buying from such a seller means they are business entities that process and check their own IMEIs before listing them on Swappa. This means Swappa is not involved with the IMEI process on those devices sold by Enterprise sellers. That means the only way to get the IMEI is from the seller directly. The problem is most Enterprise sellers are businesses that are closed on the weekends. Which means I am SOL, and anyone else is as well who buys from an Enterprise seller, for receiving the IMEI before this promo expires.

Now I have to contact the seller and request an order cancellation and refund. Not effing happy about any of this but my fault for relying on clueless SDers who were posting that buying from Swappa means instant IMEI. Not true. It is the case only when buying from certain sellers on Swappa.

The problem is I don't have a micro center in my area. I have a Best Buy. I'll check. Thanks

Traded in an iPhone 8 for the 12 mini online. Could not get the chat to work so just did the regular online upgrade order.

Just wondering, in all the email receipt & my account, I did see the trade in value but nothing mentioned about the $830 promo (or in my case & $779 for the 128G 12 mini ). Should I be worried?

Also, just out of curiosity, why is the iPhone SE2020 having such lower trade in promo than iPhone 8. 8 is a much older phone. I would've upgraded hubby's SE2 also if they'd give the same promo value.
Ooh ... i missed that I could trade in the SE2 for $530 promo. The SE2 was the low end of the iphone line and the initial retail value was less than the initial retail value of the iphone 8. Hence it's not considered as valuable as the 8. I regret having traded my iphone 8 for the SE2 as far as bang for the buck. I may just trade it in for a standard 12 today ... have to think about this.....

Hmm the deal says you have to activate a new line. Did they update the deal?

It seems like whenever there is a deal like this, people are asking the same questions over and over. Just take a little bit of time to read some of the pages and the answers already been answered many time.

Also when you are in doubt about your trade-in phone conditions and someone else said "they have no problem getting accepted and getting the credit". Just because theirs trade-in got accepted, that doesn't it will work for you. In the end, that's your account and if something goes side way then You're the one that have to deal with the mess.

Exactly this. Before asking questions what you can also do is go to T-MOBILE app and play with options too see price breakdowns/trade values and so on before you decide.

Local costco says they're out of stock nationwide, so I went to a Tmobile Store and traded it in and signed my contracts. I went to my Equipment Installment Plan Plans & Leases pages and I see the new iPhones, but there's no mention of the promotion? Is this normal or did the Tmobile Rep mess something up?

SE2 always gets the dirtball values. T-Mobile does not value most variants. So probably the 12 Mini will get lower value in future deals as well, even though it is basically the same as a 12 in most ways except size. But yes, I agree, there is no way the 8 should be top tier and the SE2 be lower tier, but as we all know, the world isn't fair and equal.
