I'm right handed and there's no game console or pc for that matter that I've controlled movement with the right hand. Movement has always been controlled with the left hand. Maybe I'm going crazy. 🤡

Same here. I've been playing arcade games for over 40 years and the only games I (also right-handed) can ever remember controlling with my right hand are the Pac-Man games.

I bought one right when the zerolag module came out. I actually had to install it since it just came out. It was pretty easy. While I'm not a diehard arcade gamer. I've been extremely happy with how good the controls feel and function. I'm really kind of puzzled by the negativity of the buttons and stick. They feel exactly how I want. I'm sure most of the actual directed criticism was for the obsolete control board that they discontinued years back.
I agree. The buttons and sticks are happ clones. And pretty good ones at that. I have two of these, both that I got second hand for about $100. They are both being used in custom mame arcade cabs. They work great for what they are. There are higher quality alternatives - such as the Xtenstion line from recroommasters, but those go for $400...

Will this work for the new Xbox X to use with Mortal Kombat? I always wanted the old arcade feel

The MicroCenter have the Atari version that is similar to this one.

https://www.microcenter.com/produ...otogroup-1

The Atari's buttons layout is better because of the curve. Also, the lever and buttons are Bailongs (spelling?) which are good Sanwa clones.

This paired with a rasp pi using retropie would be a good setup right?
Probably ya. I'm handy with electronics and carpentry so I'd make one myself but that's me..

Again, the joystick is on the left.... For left handed people only.
It's user programmable so just flip it 180

Now I know why so many people drive like idiots in America... its all left seat driving. If they lived in the UK it would be a lot easier for them! How ya gonna put the car into drive with your right hand????

I remember in the 1990s, I saw a video-game where you could turn the joystick upside down. Then, the paddle was in your right hand and the buttons on your left. I'm not sure, but I think it was Street Fighter II for Super-Famicom (Japanese version of SNES).
I don't know ANYONE who has played like that, though.

That one is way better quality..
I have a non trak-ball equipped X-Arcade and the Atari one with trak-ball. I would say that the Atari one is quite comparable in quality to this.

The X-Arcade does have more buttons and it does have the side flipper buttons, but due to the overhang on the top panel, the flipper buttons are completely uncomfortable to use. You end up pressing them from above with your finger tips, like you are 'poking' something, rather than flat against the pads of your fingers, like on a real pinball machine.

If both were the exact same price, I would probably go for the X-Arcade. Since I got the Atari one for $99.99, I definitely would have taken that over the X-Arcade at this price-point.

8 months ago, I would have jumped on this deal. Knowing I would still want to replace some internals. But since the legend gamer pro came out this lost a lot of appeal.

While the tank stick is probably better constructed than the gamer pro, I am/was looking for community support to get a good experience with the device. And that is where I see the gamer pro being significantly better. Being sold at mainstream stores means it isn't just an ultra niche product. And I won't have to spend hours upon hours tweaking the device to get the experience I want.

And why do companies have to put buttons above the trackball. The player 1/2 buttons could have been put off to the side allowing you to play golden tee like most players like to do.

Threads like this make for good discussion of the different controllers out there.
This looks like a nice price and deal.
Currently prices are on par with each other ~ all around $150ish: Atari@ microcenter, Legends Gamer pro, and this. So all good choices.

It was this controller 20 years ago, which had me thinking of getting one of these some day. But I didn't want to pay $250, so I finally got the LGpro 2 months ago for $99, and really loving it after holding out 20 years. (I purchased a second one since I liked it so much & price, positive reviews, and built in Coinopsx function to get 1700+ games, & community support on reddit, discord, and youtube.) But LGpros are sold out new in most places, only found used, open box, and refurbs for $130-150ish.

I think the Atari and this x arcade controller may have pros and cons vs the Legends controller, so I wouldn't be surprised if there were a couple things better on these controllers vs the legends, and vice versa. As long as we are all happy & able to play the same games, having the same fun, then it's good to see all these choices. Some Atari microcenter reviews stated that it is better than this x arcade. (I found it for similar price on Amazon, but it lacks pinball buttons.).

(I think the amount of lag is something that may vary in all of them, and depends on multiple factors, & based on different setups, so ymmv for everyone...
also quality control in joystick, buttons, trackball smoothness rolling, etc may vary in 3 models, and unit to unit..
).

I had this without the ball and flippers in 2006. Was a beast. Felt exactly like SF2 cabinets.

Cool, thanks, I appreciate it, rep sent your way... What are some good sites to get the roms? I think I'm gonna make one of these my next project. I restored an original Pac Man cocktail machine but only having one game gets old.
If you're getting a Pi 4, look up the RickDangerous Pure Edition image (won't link it but you'll be able to google it easily). When it comes to folks new to RetroPie, roms can be hit or miss and there's a whole lot of tweaking to be done to get the emulation to work right, but with that image he's basically done all the work for you. If you can wait, he's working on a new version to be released in a couple weeks that has been thoroughly tested and has almost any game you can think of. It will require about 500GB worth of storage, so plan to get either a suitable large SD card or SSD + USB3 adapter.

There is an earlier 400GB version that he released a couple months back that I've been using in the meantime and it's very high quality. Highly recommended.
