next phone deal in 1-2 years and it would replace this phone or whatever phone they are using.
at this point its not even worth it for many to try and put unofficial firmware. hardware keeps improving and rare to want to keep an old phone.
its like those people who still keep their plasmas today and go on new tv threads trying to claim their plasma black levels are better and why they keep it over the new 4K sets LOL
bet we have people clamouring about their IR blaster or some crap on their phone from 5 years ago and why they are sticking with it, trying to justify and peruade people to also join their misery in owning obsolete tech. thats fine and all but they are trying to push something very niche to the general public. I had one of those old phones with removable battery, ir blaster, etc etc. I wasnt about to stay with it simply for those sake yet suffer on regular use and tasks with an outdated version of android and slow processor that cant keep up with updated apps.
right now IMO only real feature that will be hard for many is lost of headphone jack. For apple fan boys they are used to apple taking things away or giving them less and upping the price so its part of their culture and are used to it. But for everyone else, not so much. Soon we will get there for that though.
edit for context: currently on android 9. if you value os updates do not buy. however, hardware is solid and the screen is excellent given the price I paid. still happy

Two bands are critical for Mint/T-Mobile - 66 and 71. These phones have 66 but not 71.
Better to get the version designed specifically for T-Mobile in my opinion

A couple years back I bought a LG G8 that was a Sprint phone - had neither band 66 or 71. Had to return it as coverage with T-Mobile was terrible.
Band 71 is typically found in more remote areas - where historically T-Mobile didn't have good coverage.
I travel a lot outside of major metro areas so better coverage in less populated areas more is important. Figure it is better to have a phone with better overall coverage.
YMMV.

These two phones don't have band 71 4G/5G for t-mobile
Still talking about GSM ? at&t shut down all its GSM towers in 2016...
the phone supports most GSM bands thought!
