Ikea has the GERTON 61 x 29.5" solid Beech wood tabletop on sale at multiple stores across the US.

I found mine at the Draper, UT store for $80, though others have found it cheaper at their local stores ($50 @ Portland, OR & $60 @ Woodbridge, VA).

Official word hasn't come out yet, but rumor has it that this tabletop will soon be discontinued because of the increasing price of wood.

Definitely worth it even at $80, considering that this tabletop had been out of stock at many stores for awhile up until around last month.

My store has computers near checkout where you can search for products and in-store pricing. Should just be able to go to one of those computers and search for the item # 501.067.73 and it'll show what the in-store price is. There should also be employees hanging around the warehouse area that you can have search the item number for you and give exact pricing. Seems like some of the stores haven't updated their physical shelf tags, but the computer should give you the exact pricing without having to physically haul one of these puppies all the way to checkout in order to find out.

The table tops are particle board. This one is solid beech wood that a lot of people like as a desktop with alex drawers on the bottom.

Yeah I saw the post on r/buildapcsales on Thursday night and went to check out the Las Vegas store on Friday. They have 14 there still but they're only on sale for $90, so it wasn't really worth it for me. I was going to use it as a top for a standing desk.

I'll wait and hope it drops. Hopefully this will save someone a trip to the Vegas store, but definitely let me know if you find out the price has gone down later Wink

Great for a desktop AFTER PROPER TOP COAT. This is raw, unfinished wood. Without a good poly or epoxy top coat this desktop wont hold up to extensive daily use. I ended up having to palm sand and refinish after 2 years of having mine due to small, yet noticable divots forming where my hands would rest. This table is great and an amazing deal for a solid wood table, but it will need to be sealed prior to use, so factor in a few more dollars for poly/epoxy

It's going to take a few coats just sand it smooth, primer and paint preferably get a HVLP sprayer for a factory finish.

I used this as a desktop with some adjustable motorized legs. Stained and clear coated it, came out beautifully. Great piece of solid wood at a really good price considering lumber nowadays.
