I'd rather jump from a bridge than flight Air Canada. If you think 'murikan airlines are bad wait until you fly on this one.

Word of advice Japan most likely won't open for tourists by the time you can book latest travel date even. I had tickets for this April same with Air Canada via Expedia and now fighting to get my money back instead of voucher that expires in August! And my ticket was $168 RT! They are selling these knowing that unless you are US government employee or have Japanese citizenship you won't be able to use it!

Dude, get out of my head. I was going to say I'd rather swim to Tokyo than fly Air Canada. Flew them twice and almost jumped off the plane, it was so bad.

Can any of you please elaborate? Why is Air Canada is bad? What happened?

I don't know with them but mine was a nightmare of nights at Vancouver airport, broken planes, overbooked connections and just unbelievable bad consumer service.

Contact the transportation department. Was really useful. They have a meditation email service. You send your justification, ticket and so on by email and they deal with it! Took some time but better than the terrible air Canada customer service.

As others have said, vaccination rollout has been incredibly slow in Japan for whatever reason. They're at about 2.5% of the population and government is taking the travel restrictions very seriously. Hard to say by April 2022, but zero chance I'd book for Jan 2022.

I assume they'll be open by 2022
