I was worried at first that the lights would be too sparse, but they ended up being fine. I will say that of all of the "effects" that the remote control can do, only maybe two or three are anything you would actually want to use, the rest are just annoying and blinky.
Maybe if you want to get them and use them as Christmas lights or something like that they would be useful, but if you just want some nice ambiance with a dimmable glow, these are great.
