HF Pittsburgh air inflator is on sale for $25. Needed one to store in the car and gets really good reviews across YouTube. Original retail is $38. Beats those cheap Amazon ones for sure.
Just remember it needs to be turned on before plugging in to valve stem.

I have this, love it. Project farm on YouTube evaluated this and it has metal piston and connecting rod, direct drive. Runs very quiet. I have no issue pumping tire to 40 psi.
Not sure, it came with a warning paper and seen it been said in other videos. Maybe the pressure from the tire overcomes the initial start of the compressor and causes the fuse to blow? Don't know but it performs well against other inflators!
Mine does the same thing! blows a fuse on initial start if i hook up the hose to tire before turning on the compressor. Talk about annoying when you got to use this thing in the hurry in the middle of the night.
I have a viair as an emergency pump for my wife's car. It works great and pumps fairly quickly for a portable compressor. She has the SUV, and I also use it if I need to fill up the travel trailer air tires.
I have this harbor freight model for my car because it it's cheaper and I didn't think I would use it as much. I've used it for when I need to change my air pressure when I've done autocross, and when I have had a slow leak. It is definitely is not as fast as the viair, but it inflates to 40 PSI without a problem.
I purchased one from Lowes as there are no HF stores nearby and it worked great on a spare tire. Had a spare tire totally flat and used the inflator which took 2 minutes to get the spare inflated to 60psi
I recently purchased both and liked the HF Pittsburgh pump more. The HF pump is significantly quieter and inflates at the same speed, if not faster. The only reason noise was an issue for me was because I had to fill up my tire twice/day for a week before I could get my wheel repaired and I had to fill up in an apartment garage. Either way, both pumps did their job.
Note: Turn the Inflator on before connecting hose to prevent blowing the fuse.
Hmmm. I have a different brand inflator. Directions say to turn the car's engine on before using inflator to keep from blowing the fuse. I wonder if that's what they meant here, but it got altered in Chinese to English translation.

Thanks for the information! I'll purchase the HF inflator once I can get to a store and try it out.
From the videos I've seen, the HF one looks a lot smaller than the Kobalt inflator which is also quiet heavy.
I bought this a couple months ago at full price to reinflate a spare. Was pretty surprised by the build quality. Got to 60 psi no problem. I may pick up another one for my other car.
