Pretty decent price for this cable.

I use it to hook up my phone to my TV and my projectors to watch movies and stream UFC fights.

Why is the description in German?
And why does it say in the safety information: "I do not have the box"?

Why? They were too busy to translate.

I need one to push to a projector. Hope I don't get those "Mirror failure - right protection" issues.

Maybe, but it has a lightning port. So I assume you could plug it in while using it.

I travel a lot for work. So I'm considering one to watch Netflix and such on hotel TVs. Anyone use if for that? Any thoughts or concerns?

Edit: Also might try it for presentations. It would be nice to not have to haul around my laptop all the time. My only concern is not having a clicker to advance slides. Does anyone know of a Bluetooth presenter remote (clicker) that works well with iOS?

From reading the reviews it seems like these break often.

This is WAAY overpriced and doesn't offer essential ports. There are multiple port attachments into the C output for about $12 on Amazon. This adapter was originally sold by Apple for $65. Overpriced then, and overpriced now.

To be honest.. I've bought two aftermarket units, identical to this apple one, and neither one worked.

I know this is not something most people would use, but to bring my projector on the deck and just hook my iPhone up to it for a quick movie night with or without the kids, is totally worth it!

This will drain the battery, but it has a lightning port so that you can charge at the same time. I have one in my truck and it works fine. Never broken or anything and is always stored in the truck with 100 degree days in the summer. We use it to stream to the headrest monitors.

$49.00. No, it "shouldn't" be this high, but that's the official MSRP and what Apple charges in its stores sans discounts. Fake adapters look like the real thing but the fake ones use a metal HDMI port and will fail on copyright-protected video, whereas the official adapter mostly won't (Xfinity Stream won't work because it triggers the anti-mirroring protection, but Amazon Prime Video, Hulu, and Netflix are OK). There's an ARM chip in the adapter which is encoding/decoding H264 video, and the lightning port is so your phone battery doesn't discharge (assuming you use a charger with sufficient wattage).
