I use the SA lotion (not the face cleanser) for my skin where I get rough spots from sun exposure in the past and I can say it's 100% not snake oil. They start healing. I also use the hydrating face wash and it feels weird - like I'm washing with lotion - but it definitely cleans my skin right up in the mornings. Feels like lotion, cleans like soap. The foaming stuff apparently is more of a deep cleaner if your skin (or your area of the country) isn't dry. And their moisturizing lotions tend to do a really good job, and also are pretty hypoallergenic. I have a friend who can only use this brand.

I've never used the SA facewash but I'm 100% on board with Cerave products in general. Reasonably priced and totally legit from what I've experienced. My dermatologist always suggests them too.

How does this compare to the Neutrogena Ultra Gentle foaming cleanser which is around $2 less?

My wife has the SA version (blue background bottle) and I legit don't notice anything special when I use it. I dunno if this is a situation where skin type matters or if it's snake oil through and through. The Equate Neutrogena (white cream) feels more productive in helping wash away oily skin honestly.

My 15 year old daughter LOVES both of these! I'm always like, "how many skin care products do you need?!" 🤣
Thanks OP!

I've been using st Ives apricot scrub for over a decade. I know it's supposedly not good but I've had no major issues. Foaming cleansers just don't seem to wash well for me

This isn't snake oil. It works pretty well with oily skin. The chemicals aren't too harsh and I use it with a facial sponge.

Wish I knew about this stuff back in high school

You are not supposed to eliminate all oils from your skin. I have been using Neutrogena for all my puberty days. Does it remove oil? Yes. It also leaves your skin dry and cracked.

FYI this doesn't come out as a foam, it's a gel and it takes a lot of work to get it foamy.

Are you sure you aren't using the hydrating type? This stuff foams easily with a little water...
