Yes. This unit does have gps and pre loaded freshwater lake maps. If you want coastal maps you'd need the 74sv which is also on sale

Not sure if this will help some. These are decent units for the entry level fisherman or navigator. They are great depending on your use case. 600x800 screen resolution. I'm currently using 2 12' gpsmap on my boat, they are much faster units but cost dramatically more. Basically add $3k to base price of this per unit. The UHD ducer on this isn't as good for deep water as the gt51 series. Don't expect side scan to be great in waters over 75' its mainly a lake system. At that point the UHD mode shows no additional benefit. The unit will need a black box if your in waters of 1000'. Gpsmap xsv series plotters have this as a built in feature. For the price I'd definitely toss this in any inshore boat, but it's not really meant for offshore boaters.

edit to add more notes: I'm fairly sure auto guidance isn't supported on these units. you may need to use active captain to activate the feature. additionally g3 vision charts don't appear to be supported. I would though verify this in the compatibility section on garmin.

The rebate only works with any Garmin chartplotter AND the blueChart g3.

Oh gotcha. Yea that's a good question. I hope it works with the g3 as that's the one I bought but on the rebate it only mentions the g3 vision.
Interesting enough I only found the g3 on the Bass Pro site tho

I have a bayliner Capri 19' . We use it in the upper Chesapeake.
We have no transducer mounted, it doesn't seem like this comes with anything like that.
Can anyone suggest what I need to also buy to make this bad boy functional?

73sv only has the lakes and ponds and no coastal map. The 74sv has both lakes and coastal map. You could get the 73sv with coastal by buying the map for an additional $20 after rebate. So, the 73sv is around $70 cheaper than the 74sv if you don't mind to bother with the rebate hassel. I went with the 74sv since I am not a rebate fan.
