Yes. This unit does have gps and pre loaded freshwater lake maps. If you want coastal maps you'd need the 74sv which is also on sale

Folks.... Caution! The rebate is only good if you're purchasing the "Vision" version of charts. This chart is not available from Bass Pro.

What format does Garmin use for it's maps? I use a Lowrance and can make my own Google map overlay in at5 format.

There are kayak transducer mounts available that fit into a scupper hole however I would suggest the smaller 4" screen version for a kayak.

It's incorrect. 73sv has lake charts only, 74sv has coastal charts only. Then you would need to upgrade via SD the alternatives or go for the "vision" version for auto-routing.

There are some caveats to consider but to answer your question, yes portable transducer mounts are available. How it mounts, how long of a pole etc will of course vary depending on the type of boat. Basically give it a 12v power supply and some sort of pole to get the transducer under the water and it'll function.
