I was told that they will have the mini fans back in stock at HD in a week or two.
UPDATE: HD will have the item back in stock after June 22nd.

You might be able to get a good enough solder iron, but realize that heat is the name of the game when it comes to solder. If the pipe doesn't get hot enough, you're never going to solder it
I see that people are TRYING to flip these on Marketplace and eBay but I also see a lot of units just sitting there and not being bought. Not trying to discourage anyone from flipping if that's their hobby but from what distributors have been saying on reddit the demand for this is so much higher than they anticipated that Ryobi is going to make it a regular seasonal item, though probably with a higher MSRP of $24.99
They didn't sell out of the larger fan for $20 last week. That fan is arguable better, but this has way more demand. Are you trying to say the amount they had must be low? If so that seems to make it a valid good deal since supply is scarce.
How does any of that help for anyone who wants one for this summer or a gift for father's day? I can see waiting for a bucket fan, it takes a bit more effort to use properly then this 4inch clamp. Also about 'TRYING' to flip, check the comments in the HD thread. At least two comments note they bit the bullet and bought reseller markups. the more time that passes the more they will sell at their desired price, the market will decide if that is truly $50 or closer to $35.
Your time not using it over a year is worth something. As you noted prices tend to go up, so time is not on your side in this case. You even state it will probably be msrp $25 next year, so DTO's standard discount of like 10-20% off could apply plus a 20% off day for $16+7 ship. You saved a grand total of $4 to not use it over a year or give as a gift. Sometimes pinching every penny is not worth it and you should treat yourself.
The TU's for this deal are not because of a $50 1/2 impact or a $30 fan that was $20 last week. We all get you all are willing to wait forever if necessary, not everyone will do that, especially with inflation catching up to us all.
Now I'm going to go and make a necklace out of mine, with them all running full blast, while drinking random juice drinks, and post on all the social media pages. That alone will probably get me a truck or at least some free Ryobi tools.

P238:

I can't seem to find any comparisons online. The PID01KMX doesn't seem to have much info at all.
Thanks!
P290 is hydraulic, so it's much quieter, but you give up power.
PID01KMX is their new entry-level one. Good for basic screwdriver tasks, but relatively weak.
P238 is the brushless and most powerful model.
Of the 3, I'd recommend the P238. It's bigger and heavier than the others, but I prefer to have more power and not need it than not enough power and need it. The P238 has dealt with everything I've thrown at it, and it easily removed lug nuts too. Be sure to get the HP+ batteries with the additional contacts as those are needed for max power.
The factory blem stuff has the same warranty as the equivalent new Ridgid item. The refurbished stuff has a reduced warranty and doesn't qualify for the lifetime.

Batteries are a whole different story - I have like 6 batteries - so won't be buying any new for a while. Just trying to find all the cool toys to use them with.

My tool collection mostly consists of Ryobi and Metabo HPT (and Hitachi, which became Metabo HPT). I have 4x 4Ah, 4x 3Ah HP+, and 2x 1.5Ah batteries. I use all my Ryobi tools, but the ones I use most are my 3Gal vac, small hybrid fan (which I got for more than $30, the last deal was ridiculously good), 150W inverter, cut-off tool, JobPlus (have different heads), and circular saw. I also have some 40V stuff (mower, string trimmer, 300W inverter) that I use all the time. The nice thing with Ryobi is their massive lineup. They're not the most powerful, but I've found them to take a beating just fine and I got way more tools than I could've from any other ecosystem for the money. My Metabo drill and impacts have replaced my Ryobis for daily use, but I still keep my Ryobis for backups.
The inverters are super useful. I bring them camping all the time.
My circular and recip saws are blue (still have my working blue drill too). I've made a lot of stuff with that almost 2 decades old blue 5.5" circular. Just got a new blade recently to help a friend make some custom shelves and bookcases.
This guy.....right here! 👏
Cant count how many times this came in clutch in la. Sometimes we get blackouts in hot summers and this keeps us sane till it comes back.
I work in a clinic and our ac blew up. Brought this to work and made life bearable for everyone for those few days till the repairs.
I put it next to me while im outside charging my car oils and im under the car (dont have a shaded area or garage for this)
You won't be disappointed . It will just be a matter of time till you need it.
