Amazon has X-Tronic 3020-XTS • 75W Soldering Iron Station for $39.75 plus 10% cash back if you use an Amazon credit card or store card.

Kit Includes:
-75-Watt Soldering Station
-2 Helping Hands
-5 Extra Sizes/Styles of Soldering Tips
-Side Mount Solder Roll Holder
-50g Roll of 60/40 Solder
-Spring Style Soldering Iron Holder
-Brass Sponge Tip Cleaner
-Cleaning Flux in the Tin
-Wet Sponge.

Let me know if this is a good deal. I've been looking for an inexpensive soldering station since I don't think I'm ready to be spending Hakko money. The previous x-tronic model (3010-XTS) was a popular deal at $35 for reference.

EDIT: I also got a $10 credit for use in a later purchase when I bought this item. Seems to be some small business promotion Amazon is running (prime members only). You can get it by buying from any small business, but this item counts. After this promo and extra cash back, I got this station for a little over $25.

As an inexpensive starter or backup, I suppose it is ok. But aside from the digital readout (kind of irrelevant once you find the right setting for your particular solder), you can find a similar irons all the time for ~$15. Just depends on the value you perceive in the convenience of the other stuff they've thrown in, if it's any good.

Not a great deal, but not bad.

If you can open the budget up to $100 you can put together a similar kit with much better components long term. Soldering with T-12 style tips (either genuine Hakko or knock-offs) imo is the best way to go for an electronics hobbyist. Good flux and solder from known brands can make a huge difference too, often those cheap kits don't have the best expendables, hit and miss.

Do you see any kits on Prime day that are worthwhile? I know nothing about them and would like to get a decent station for some retro gaming refurbishing. Thanks!
