They are usually $5-$6 per bag. In 7 orders since October at Amazon, I have gotten $4 once and then $3.33 this past Sunday. All other times have been between $5 and $5.99. Petco is always $6/bag sometimes buy 2 get 1 free.
Even at this price, the bag probably costs as much as a chicken breast. I suppose the benefit here is they last a long time, but I can go through one breast a day with my two pups.

TLDR, it's apparently common and some people think small amounts of garlic is beneficial. Jury is still out though.
