If you are buying a hue bulb, then you are already invested in their ecosystem and have lot of products that integrates exceptionally well with each other. Hue is well supported with other 3rd party products.
For that reason, you are paying $33/bulb for their brand.

If you need just one or two bulbs and don't really care for any further integrations, then $10 wifi color (not sure you'll get million of colors option though) will suffice.

Not everyone has a need for Hue. For me, I'm heavily invested and couldn't be happier.
What kind of deceptive math is this on "buy two get one free"?

Savings of $35 for one bulb ($134.99 - $99.99) would imply the cost should be $70 for two bulbs ($35 * 2).

But it costs $99.99 for two bulbs with "one free" which means the each bulb price should be $50 based on their math.

If this was a true "buy two get one free" the retail price of each bulb is $45 so the final price should be $89.99. In no way is this a "buy two get one free".
Hue bulbs use Zigbee, not WiFi. They don't load your WiFi network. Some Amazon Echo devices have Zigbee hubs built in. That's what I use. They are exceptionally stable and responsive.

shouldn't this pack be $90 if it's buy two get one free and the 3 pack is $135? This is like buy two bulbs for $50 and get one free, but ignore the fact that each bulb is $45 each to begin with.
Thank god someone here knows how to do math.

Just got a 3 pack with hub new for 99 on eBay and there were several available. Not bad directly from manufacturer though.
I only see third party sellers with NO returns: https://www.ebay.com/itm/254972470115

Provide a link or why bother?

This is a great deal. I have hue, LIFX, and wyze lights. The LIFX has the sharpest colors and 'sets the mood' the best, imo. Wyze are cheap, and hue is the most average of performance at a premium (unless it's a deal like this). Hue may be more stable than LIFX, but if you have a solid wifi with fewer devices, LIFX wins. Just imo.

I was fitting my house with Hue bulbs but now there are so many more options that are so much cheaper. I bought four 1500 lumen dimmable colored lamps for $37.

I just have one question:
Why would you spend $33 on one bulb? Specially when similar app-controllable / smart - wifi bulbs are available for much less?
I was wondering the same question I'm glad somebody else asked

No idea. Even when Hue is on sale it's more expensive. I don't understand why anyone wants to buy into the overpriced underperforming Hue ecosystem.

The same reason some people spending $60,000 on a BMW or Mercedes when they could buy a Ford or Chevy for $30,000- except there is probably a bigger difference in the stability and quality of the light bulb differences than the cars.

You clearly have never tried bulbs from different places. Hue is hands down, the best. As an owner of over 35 hue bulbs, I have NEVER had an issue. I ONCE tried the nanoleaf bulb. I gave them away to a friend. Terrible experience.

Hue .. just works. Period. Quality bulb that's tried and true.

I know this is a very special case, but WiFi bulbs interfere with my garage door openers. Zigbee/Hue bulbs do not. Took me months to figure this out. If I want smart bulbs in the part of my house over my garage, they have to be these! Thanks for the find!
