Nice competitor to Thinkpad as a business traveler machine.

$720 if you checkout with PayPal, today only.

Edit:

Want to add, if you can get over the RAM limitations and don't need to do CAD, 3D, or lots of high-res photo/video editing, this is a very good deal on a premium business / software dev laptop. It and its competitors (X1 Carbon/Nano, Latitude, etc.) are usually $1200+, on a good day. Slickdeals community is underrating this one 'cause it isn't carrying a world-beating CPU or a GPU.

  • 2x Thunderbolt ports are nice (although one is for charging)
  • Memory specs are confusing (perhaps fully populated with 2x8=16gb RAM but can't tell)
  • Bluetooth 5 and WiFi ax are very good.
  • 2.19lbs is a dream!
  • Intel GPU is ok for viewing web video and casual Webex (but maybe not for someone who needs to be ultra-responsive on those document shares). I tried using something like this for TEAMS and it was a no-go (TEAMS is a memory and GPU hog).
  • Not sure about the display (I haven't seen it)
  • The processor is fine for office use.
If I was jumping on an airplane every week like I used to do, I would get one.

PCMAG's version this ExpertBook scored longer (30hours 36mins) on the video loop battery test than the Macbook Air (29 hours 1 min).

Does anyone have something against this laptop? I'd like it for my dad as a general business laptop, he's been using a crappy one from 2015 or so, so this would be a great improvement.

Any ideas on the build quality or upgreadability?

Build quality is fantastic. Might feel cheap because it's so small and light, but the material is an alloy (not plastic), the paint job is beautiful, the clamshell action is smooth and precise (doesn't feel like repetitions will wear the hinges or the screen), the touchpad is glass (like MacBooks), and the keyboard action is responsive with satisfying feedback. There are 2 accessible M.2 slots, so upgrading storage isn't a problem. RAM is soldered.

It only draws 65W max, so it's perfect for USB-C PD accessories.

Thanks so much! I ended up buying the laptop, and using the 18 months payment thing from amazon to lower the pain. I'll post a comment later when I end up getting it, thanks!
