I believe 14% is a good deal for the new LG 2021 gram version, do you think the same?

Pretty decent deal for a great laptop. The only thing that I don't like about it is the glossy display, but that is subjective. There were rumors out there that an AMD 5700U version of the Gram 16 was coming out later this year, but it's been 6 months since the article below, so I'm not sure.

I picked the LG 2-in-1, i5 16GB of RAM 512GB today for $1,250. I5 is much better for battery usage.

FYI the i7 in this device is ultraportable, low power. Not your typical i7. Hence the best in class battery life.

Wait a few years because you are not seeing $799 on this.

Almost pulled the trigger on this, but then I checked their support site and there are zero drivers available for download. Me having 21 years of IT experience: Very odd. What if I need to reload Windows? Are they even updating the BIOS? Are they even patching drivers for security vulnerabilities?

All red flags so I passed. Otherwise, the specs are very good on the box.

Anyone have experience with Dell Mobile Connect. Or, with LG's similar product. I like the fact that you can connect your phone to your PC.

The laptop comes with an app called Update Center with all the drivers. Not sure why you can't get them on their website tho.

You have 21 years of experience but don't know drivers can be updated via Device Manager. Just go to device manager and click on yellow icon on non-installed ones and right click on it and update. Appropriate drivers will be downloaded automatically.

I have 30 years of experience and your thinking is outdated.

The lg update app downloads all the proprietary drivers you need that windows update doesn't download. Source: experience.

Yes, they have an app that can update drivers, but that is the only option. Maybe you've never had to deal with Lenovo's Software Update Center or maybe you didn't have to deal with the fallout from IBM's superfish. Manufacturer provided driver updaters are terrible. It's very odd that they don't have individual driver packages available.

And yes, you can use the built in driver manager, but those are not always the best drivers for the system (which is why manufacturers publish their own drivers). Letting Windows choose whatever drivers it wants is just lazy IT.

Speaking of keeping drivers and firmware up to date, look at Dell. They just recently hit the news with 30 million devices at risk of a high sev CVE because of a BIOS vulnerability that allows RCE at system level. But hey, you've got some updater running the background so you can just ignore all security events and enjoy your time in Minecraft.

I would be all over this if I had not bought a 17 inch one from costco 4 months ago. its the 10th generation i7 with 16g of ram and 512 m2 ssd. it was their last one, floor sample on sale for 889.
Reviews of the 11th generation show is to be much better in multicore processing, and much more efficient with battery. Mine lasts all of about 9 hours.
This is a nice deal on a great light laptop. Only drawback is the 256gb ssd.
