They show it being used with a laptop, but how many laptops are only 30w?
Seems like a station meant for laptops but only enough power for a tablet.

is that good or bad? From what I can tell, this seems like a decent product for a tablet or phone.

A lot of people want 4k@60Hz in their HDMI hubs. Not good or bad, just might not be what people want.

The "hz" rating just means how many times a display updates each second. 30hz means 30 times/second. 60hz is 60 times/second. The main thing this improves is movement smoothness. With 4k@30hz you'll notice that the mouse movement isn't very smooth. It's good enough, I used a 4k display @30hz for years before I upgraded my laptop to one that ran 4k@60hz. If your laptop and display both support it, its worth buying a dock that supports it as well. The difference is noticeable.

I don't think that's for the power. Only for the hdmi to usb-c.

Check out product photos:
Shows PD via USB C (30w) and also power to one of the USB A ports (7.5 W, pretty low)

can this be used to charge my samsung galaxy phone via USB-C *AND* simultaneously output HDMI to a TV? I know the description and pictures show this functionality with a laptop, but there are comments/reviews saying that they couldn't get a nintendo switch to work like this. i'm guessing this is not possible on a smartphone?

I bought a similar dock (QGeem 9 in 1) and it will output HDMI via my Note 9, but will not charge via the USB-C connection to the dock.

It will charge wirelessly using a charging stand I have lying around and output HDMI while connected with the USB-C wire to the dock if that's helpful.

MacBook Airs and many Chromebooks. Would also be great for iPad Airs and Pros.

Can't speak to this particular item, but I have used multiple types of docks to do exactly what you are asking without any issue on my Samsung Galaxy devices.
I think the Switch might be extra finnicky on which devices are compatible but Samsung shouldn't be a problem for just power (DeX compatibility sometimes is a little more picky about hubs though)

That's the whole point behind these hubs having USB-C PowerDelivery- to provide power to the host device while using the hub (especially for devices like phones and tablets that only have the ONE USB-C port)

You can't charge most laptops with a 30W charger and it does not cost a lot more to get a 100W.

This price seems fishy. Anyone else think so?
