It is supposed to be compatible with most of the old NWN mods for PC. NWN was probably the most-modded game prior to TES:Skyrim, since they built the engine so a DM could hold a virtual online gaming session with their pen and paper players. The DM could design a dungeon or city, and the game handled all the combat die rolls, which sped up gameplay considerably. So there's a substantial library of mods out there. But interest in NWN has waned enough that you'll have a tough time finding support if you encounter problems with a mod. Or in some cases, even finding some of the old mods.
For Android in particular, Google changed Android version 11 to hide the contents of the /Android/data folder from outside apps (for security reasons). You need to install mods into the /Android/data/com.beamdog.nwnandroid/ folder, and this change has made doing that a lot more complicated. The easiest way is to plug the tablet or phone into a PC and access its filesystem that way. Used to be I could download the mod files from Dropbox or Google Drive, and use a file manger to put them in the proper location. But only a few select file managers can currently do that , and they still seem to be having problems (can browse the folder but can't see the contents).
The first campaign is decent, and does a fairly good job of getting you to care about the characters Baldur's Gate-style. The later ones (SOU and HOU) are rather meh. I'd say the Witches Wake and Kingmaker DLC are better, albeit considerably shorter. If you're getting this, you're mostly doing it for the opportunity to play a customizable isometric RPG based on 3e D&D rules, with a ton of fan-made content out there. It plays a lot like the Baldur's Gate series, though the storyline isn't as good. The graphics are better than BG, but this was the last hurrah of 3rd person isometric RPGs before they switched to first person view with full 3D graphics. (the fact that BG/BG2/IWD is still selling for $3-$7, while this is selling for $2 should give you a clue about the difference in story quality).
When I played it, I always used the PRC for the huge number of new classes and additions it brought to the game.

You'll probably also want the LETO character editor (though there are also specialized module mods which let you customize your character in-game).

I think you're looking for the deal on GOG.com. It's $1.77 right now.
Edit: My bad, apparently you can play iOS games on M1 Macs.
