How does this compare to Lenovo G34w-10? Wonder if I should return and get this.

Color definitely needs tweaking. Contrast is not so good. With a 1060 laptop got it to 115 hz.

Then probably give it a try… I like my Lenovo very much I got on prime day… and GTA5 could run 144Hz at 3440x1440

Not a huge gamer, but enjoy it once in awhile. Looking for a nice monitor mostly for work, but it would plug into my alien where or desktop for occasional gaming

What's like the base level stats for a gaming monitor?

If I have to break the bank for anything decent and I'm not worried about it.

I am new to this too. I just got my Alienware R10 and I watch more videos than intense gaming.
I personally am looking at 144Hz, 3440x1440, 34" ultra wide with curved screen. FPS is important to me so I would like 144Hz and 75Hz was a little too low. In that case the cheapest VA panel is Lenovo around 350. The best option is Alienware on sale with nano IPS (one crazy sale last week was 550, originally 1500 on dell).
Really up to what you like… some people also care about dynamic range, latency and brightness. Probably get some returnable ones first.

Thanks. The Alienware laptop itself has a great screen, but I'm blind and the more space the better, as well as I'm knowing I eventually want to hook it up to a desk top.

Was just $260 last week/earlier this week. $270-$280 are now "regular" sale prices, so to speak.

I've low level of confident about any Samsung product, my microwave, refrigerator and TV are Samsung, but they all got different problems. TV last less than 3 year. Switching to LG, so far so good. Got the 34" ultrawide from Costco. Love it.

I know of LG from making monitors,. The'yve been doing that for decades, Samsung for solid state drives and LCD Tvs. Ihave a Samsung LCD tv for ovedr 10 years, They both are big into phones. I'd think that monitors would be good based on their track record with the products I mentioned. As for their applilances, well they've both sold me craptacular washing machines.

Samsung and LG are still relatively new to the appliance world. More geared towards the bells and whistles over reliability IMO. TVs, monitors and memory (Samsung) are there strengths for now. They have many levels of TVs and monitors so not all of them are good. Have to do your research.
