I've been using this for a while and it is worth the low cost. It has come in handy plenty of times for me. Hope you all find it useful.

Five Eyes member. I also suggest you read KeepSolid VPN Unlimited's privacy policy, then you have some genuine cause for concern. That's because the company keeps a ton of customer information, although some of it is only stored during the VPN session and is never connected with any specific user's personally identifiable information. That being said, KeepSolid VPN Unlimited logs:

Name
Company name
Email
Username (hashed)
Password (hashed)
IP address
Browser type
Operating system type
Device type
Time zone
Country
Total amount of web traffic in GB
Session dates
Payment history
Connection type

Although you could connect up to 10 devices with one subscription to KeepSolid VPN Unlimited, you can only use five at a time. They also don't allow for split tunneling. P2P is supported, though only at five locations: Canada, France, Luxembourg, Romania and the US (California).

I started with KeepSolid VPN as my first VPN and have the lifetime subscription. I received 2 copyright notices for downloads so i switched to never looked back. Haven't had an issue since. Keepsolid's protection isn't so solid (pun intended). I'm sry OP, not trying to crap on your post. Don't want people wasting money on a product that does not do as it is intended.

Sorry, but it sounds like you had a leak in your network or your VPN was improperly set up. The foundation of VPN technology is that your data is encrypted across a virtual private network. From vpn.com, "your ISP can't see who you are or anything that you do online when you have a VPN activated. Your device's IP address, the websites you visit, and your location are all undetectable. The only thing that your ISP can "see" when you're using a VPN is encrypted data traveling to a remote server." I download quite a bit and never had a copyright notice.

Regarding the other comments about their privacy policy, this is a "budget" lifetime subscription that is useful for most general purposes. If you are looking for something more secure or are weary of their privacy policy, it might be suitable to look for more premium options out there. In my personal use cases it works just fine. I don't use it all the time, but when I need it it is a life saver.

Also, here's a positive review from Tom's Guide. https://www.tomsguide.com/us/vpn-...-5272.html I'm sure there are plenty of negative reviews too. Hope this is helpful for someone.

I know how to set up a proper VPN and always had a kill switch enabled (hence not having a problem since I switchwd). Keepsolid is not supposed to keep logs but they do. They are also US based which is very bad for any VPN service which is why there are comments about their privacy and surveillance practices. They also collect your personal data from social media. What do you think they are doing with that? Dont quote me on this but I know they had a different name previously and those "lifetime" subscriptions were all cancelled. I have also experienced faster download speeds since my switch. This is my personal experience from using the service for nearly 2 years. I think that counts for something when expressing my experience using this service.

*EDIT* CMychael, and I will agree with you that the service is good for probably 70% of the people looking for a VPN service. I think I paid $15 for the lifetime which is not bad at all. You can pay much more for a better service.

I use Surf Shark. Way more pricey though @ $2.49 a month for 2 years.

Many years ago I bought a discreet number of GB from PrivateTunnel or whatever it was called before that. Eventually they shut down my plan. I am a low usage user and dont need super high security. Is this the best bang for the buck for someone like me? My primary use case is when I am in public places and unable to get my home router based VPN server working.

I would say so. That's basically what I use it for.

I have this. I use it while traveling outside the US when I want to use something that is Geo-Blocked back home. It's fine for something like RDP behind a Geo-Blocked router or firewall.
I've never tried streaming through it, but it's good enough for a casual user to perhaps check their emails and such without MSN or Google freaking out and asking for extra verification. There is actually a node in my hometown area so that works even better for me.
